When an opportunity for a day trip to Brighton was shared with the Finding and Matching Service, Doris was keen to get involved. 

Working closely with her support worker, Mya, some of Doris' regular support hours were rearranged to allow her to enjoy a full day at the seaside. Through good communication, planning and flexibility, the team were able to make the trip possible. 

This is a great example of how Finding and Matching helps people access opportunities that reflect their interests, goals and aspirations, supporting meaningful experiences and greater community inclusion.

Meet Kieran​

Since joining Centre 404, Kieran has grown in confidence, communication, and independence.​

With support from the After-School Clubs and Youth Group, he’s built strong friendships, learned to express his emotions more confidently, and now follows instructions with minimal encouragement.​

Kieran especially enjoys bowling, chatting with staff about his interests, and helping in the kitchen preparing snacks and healthy meals. Activities that help build valuable life skills and confidence. 💙

A trip last week to . Everyone had a great time trying out different games, testing their skills, and cheering each other on.​

There was plenty of friendly competition as people played on the machines and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The highlight of the day was definitely going on the rollercoaster.​

It was a brilliant trip out, creating great memories and giving everyone the chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy time together.​

Our active support workers are highly trained in person-centred, strengths-based care, supporting people to lead their own lives and build skills, confidence, and support networks.​

We support people with a wide range of needs, including high and complex needs, learning disabilities,and mental health needs.​

We also have an in-house Speech and Language Therapist to support communication and accessible information, including total communication approaches.​

Recently we visited Waltham Forest SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service) to meet the wonderful volunteers and staff 💙

This team is a great example of how volunteers are fully integrated into the Centre 404 team. Their support is described as “so vital” helping free up staff to focus on casework and ensuring people continue to receive high-quality support.​

A huge thank you to all the volunteers for their ongoing commitment over many years, and a special shoutout to Asta and Catherine for their continued dedication 👏

🌸 Spring Celebration at Centre 404 🌸​

We had a wonderful time celebrating spring together, in collaboration with UCL Rotaract Club 💛

The session focused on feeling good — from chair yoga and breathing exercises to sharing ideas around wellbeing. There was also plenty of creativity,with everyone getting involved in making spring crafts for our upcoming May Day Friday Night Social 🌼

A special moment was planting an orange rose in our beloved former President's Memorial Garden, it was a lovely way to reflect and connect 🌿 Wewere also joined by DJ Danny, who kindly volunteered his time and ended the day with a feel-good disco 🎶​

With homemade cakes, refreshments, and lots of smiles, it was a brilliant celebration of community and connection.​

🌿 Team Away Day 🌿​

We recently brought our leadership team together for an away day to focus on something really important: how we communicateand support one another.​

It was a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, connect as a team, and reflect on how strong communication helpsus build better teams and deliver the best possible support for the people we work with.​

A big thank you to Katie Casey for leading such an engaging and thoughtful session - we’ve come away with lots to build on 💬
