Our Community Library at Barham Park in Sudbury has recently had loads of donations of books and consequently we now have many duplicates and spares.

We could in fact fill someone’s shelve unit, bookcase or supply some books for your community space. Additionally your always welcome to come swap as many books as you wish just let us know when you’re coming.

Something for History, Train and Nature buffs.

A new Mural at Sudbury & Harrow Road Station (near the bridge in Harrow Road Sudbury) commissioned by Friends of Barham Library and designed by LeSpleen a Mural artist behind a number of local Murals.

You need to walk into the station area to see it. It is a digital design transferred on aluminium plates. The original railway line was built by Great Central Railway to provide a service from Manchester to Marylebone and has been managed since 1996 by Chiltern Railways. The famous Watkin Folly (an attempt to build an English version of the Eifel Tower) can be seen in pictures showing the railway line being built in the early 1900s.

Not far from the Station is Butlers Green where you can see another Mural by LeSpleen celebrating Sir Willaim Perkin (as Sudbury resident and famous chemist) who invented the artificial way of creating colour dyes.
