Womenandchildrenofafrica.org Women and Children Tanzania is an organisation aimed at facilitating volunteer projects and elective placements in Arusha, Tanzania. Placements are available for students studying Midwifery, Nursing, Medicine,Education and Physical Education. Women and Children Tanzania are open to providing exp

eriences for pre-university students, qualified professionals and those interested in a general volunteering
project at local orphanages and hospitals. We have partnerships with many hospitals, schools, orphanages and sports clubs throughout Tanzania, allowing us to tailor the electives and volunteering programmes to your interests.

A group of midwives and I are climbing Snowdon this weekend in aid of improving maternity care in Uganda currently.
Maternity care in Africa faces significant challenges, including limited access to quality healthcare, poor infrastructure, and socioeconomic factors that contribute to high maternal mortality rates.
Women and children of Africa is a non profit that is improving maternity care, by donating supplies, teaching resources and organising regular volunteering programmes in Africa. Myself and colleagues will be climbing the three peaks this year starting with Snowdon to raise money to supply 2 resuscitaire’s and new obstetric scanner and a generator due to the constant power cuts.

Uganda march 2024. We are travelling to Uganda as a group of midwives, doctors and support staff to help improve their maternal death rate and teach obstetric and neonatal emergencies. We have a few places left so why not come and volunteer with us at a reduced rate and make that difference.

***Exciting trip planned for March 2024*** A team of obstetricians and midwives are planning a trip to our new placement in Uganda to provide teaching to help manage PPH, hypertension, Pre Eclampsia and diabetes. We have started to organise some fundraising events…cake sale 🧁and quiz night 🖋️ to help raise some funds to take some equipment out. Dates to be announced soon 😁
