Join us this Thursday for a colourful and creative afternoon exploring the beautiful tradition of Indian Rangoli! 🎨✨

Discover the history and cultural significance of Rangoli, and learn how these intricate designs are used to celebrate festivals, welcome guests and bring good fortune to the home.

Then it’s your turn! 🌈 Create your very own colourful Rangoli-inspired artwork to take home.

No previous art experience needed - just come along and have fun! All materials are provided. 💛

🌍✨ This week we welcomed our new young volunteers from Germany, who have officially started their year here in the UK!
It’s been a busy, exciting, and fun first week getting settled in — and honestly, we’re already having the best time with them. They’re lovely, enthusiastic, and have brought so much energy to the team.

As they gear up to start their projects next week, we wish them a smooth settling-in, lots of new friendships, and an unforgettable year ahead. Welcome to the family! 🔻💙

Our wonderful volunteers have reached the end of their year at the German YMCA, and our members, friends and community came together to celebrate them in style! 🥳

🎉 Happy Volunteers’ Week 2026! 🎉

This week, we proudly celebrate and thank all of our past and present German and international volunteers whose time, energy and dedication make such a difference to our community!

Through their support, we are able to support charity and community partners including PiP (Pursuing Independent Paths), AJR (Association of Jewish Refugees), St John’s & St James Primary School, Friends of St Mary’s Hospital, and many others. Our volunteers also play a vital role in helping deliver the German YMCA’s weekly community programme, bringing people together through friendship, support, wellbeing activities and community engagement.

Whether serving behind the scenes, supporting events, welcoming guests, working at local charities, or contributing their skills and enthusiasm, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
