Talking about death isn’t always easy, but it can be meaningful.

After a thoughtful and well-attended first session, we’re pleased to say that the Grove Park Death Cafe is now a regular monthly event at the Ringway Centre.

Join us tomorrow Thursday 30 July, from 10am to 12pm for tea, cake and conversation in a warm, welcoming and judgement-free space.

There is no agenda, no guest speakers and no pressure to speak. Whether you’d like to listen, share your thoughts, or simply explore one of life’s biggest questions with others, you’ll be made very welcome.

📅 Thursday 30 July
🕙 10am - 12pm
📍 Ringway Centre, 268 Baring Road, SE12 0DS

Perhaps learning about the art of a good death is also part of learning how to live a good life.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Google & Grove Park Community Group 🌟

On July 9th & 16th, 18 amazing volunteers rolled up their sleeves at the Ringway Centre, transforming the space with painting, clearing, and problem-solving. From revitalising the main hall to bringing a long-forgotten printer back to life - their efforts made a real difference!

💪 Supporting GPCG through GoogleServe, these volunteers not only helped improve the community but also strengthened bonds, shared smiles, and enjoyed a day away from the usual grind.

Thanks to their efforts and a generous donation, we now have a brighter, more welcoming space for community activities like the Friday Café, Open Mic nights, and more.

Special shoutout to for their supplies and to Andrew Edkins for embodying our community spirit.

Every bit of help counts - whether you’re painting a wall or sharing your skills. Want to learn more? Read the full article ➡️ https://gpcg.org.uk/news/googleserve-volunteers-bring-new-life-to-the-ringway-centre/

Congratulations once again to our Grove Park ward councillors, Suzannah Clarke, Samantha Gower and Hilary Moore, who were elected in May. It was a pleasure to welcome some of them to our Summer Fête, and we look forward to working with all three over the coming years as they join us at our monthly GPCG meetings and support our local community.

Together, we can continue making Grove Park a welcoming, vibrant place for everyone.
