Death is something we will all experience, yet it’s often one of the hardest things to talk about.

Whether you’re caring for ageing parents, grieving someone you’ve lost, thinking about your own wishes for the future, or simply curious about the conversation, you’re warmly invited to join us for a Death Cafe at the Ringway Centre.

A Death Cafe isn’t a counselling session or a support group. There is no agenda, no guest speakers and no pressure to share more than you’d like.

It’s simply a welcoming space to talk openly about death and dying over tea and cake.

Hosted by Jane McGee , conversations are guided by those who attend and can explore anything from practical questions and cultural traditions to grief, spirituality and what it means to live well.

Thursday 18 June
10am - 12pm
The Ringway Centre

Tea, cake and conversation provided.

Sometimes, talking about death can help us live more fully.

I’ve been thinking a lot about death lately.

As a yoga teacher, every class I teach ends with Savasana - the co**se pose - a moment to let go completely. It reminds me that endings are part of life, and that learning to let go is a practice in itself.

My ageing parents are across the ocean, and it worries me that I am not around. My sister carries all the responsibility, bless her. This has made me realise how little we talk about ageing, dying and grief.

Recently, I read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, a beautiful reminder that life isn’t about having no regrets - it’s about embracing the one we’re living.

Perhaps the art of good dying is really about learning how to live well.

That’s why I’m looking forward to the Death Cafe at the Ringway Centre, hosted by Jane McGee, this Thursday.

No agenda. No guest speakers. Just tea, cake and honest conversation about something we all experience.

Open Mic Night at The Ringway Centre!

An evening to share, connect, and enjoy the creativity within our community.

This open mic offers a welcoming space to step up and express yourself in front of a friendly and supportive crowd. Whether you sing, play an instrument, read poetry, or simply have something you’d like to share, you are warmly invited.

There is no need for experience or perfection. This is about participation, encouragement, and enjoying the moment together.

You are just as welcome to come along, sit back, and enjoy the talents of your neighbours in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

We’ll pause halfway through for a short break, with tea and coffee to share, giving everyone a chance to connect and unwind.

We gather every second Thursday of the month.

Tickets: £3
