London Irish Centre The Irish Heart of London. Empowering and enriching lives through Irish community and culture.
(618)

In 1955, the London Irish Centre (LIC) opened its doors to meet the needs of newly arrived Irish emigrants. Initially providing accommodation and welfare, the Centre quickly became an important social and cultural venue. Today, the LIC continues to be the Irish Heart of London - the largest Irish community centre outside of Ireland and the largest Irish welfare charity in Britain. Our mission is t

o empower and enrich lives through Irish community and culture. Each year we support over 2,000 individuals and have over 20,000 attendees at our arts, culture and educational events. In 2020, our services were remodelled in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We have supported people through hot meal delivery, food parcels, advice, telephone befriending, a health and wellbeing advice line, library outreach and an online cultural programme. Working with our patrons, Dermot O’ Leary and Ed Sheeran, Board of Trustees, and the wider community, the LIC is in the early stages of an ambitious redevelopment project to create a world class culture and community centre in Camden over the next five years. London Irish Centre - Registered Charity No: 1149787, Company No: 8221421.

The joy in this room! ❤️

In between selling out dates up and down the UK and Ireland, BIIRD (with guest star Jig and a Swig - Irish Dancing for Londoners) put on a Holy Show for the London Irish kiddies last Saturday.

We've had some magical moments in the McNamara Hall this season, but this was surely one of the highlights.

Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí 💕

The perfect day for it at London Golf Club ☀️

The start of this heatwave set us up for a beautiful day on the course last week, where a sold-out 25 teams teed off in aid of the London Irish Centre.

These golf days bring our community together in the best way, and we are immensely grateful to Mick Roddy and Anna Brennan Events, whose hard work and planning delivered another spectacular event.

Over the last five years, these golf days have raised an incredible £300,000 for our charity, helping us keep reaching those who need us most.

A huge thank you to Mick, Anna, and to everyone who played, sponsored, and supported the day. Your generosity makes a real and lasting difference.
