Remembering Sewol Disaster UK

It was fairly quiet in New Malden for our monthly gathering on Saturday, and only a few people stopped by during our 1.5 hours. One of these towards the end was a Korean lady who was very moved by the Sewol disaster and gave a generous donation. As usual, we enjoyed a social time afterwards in 63 High St café. We always forget to take pictures of this enjoyable time, but did get this shot of a lovely dog nearby 😆

We had a good 'away day' in Cambridge for our May gathering. We had some good interactions with members of the public, and even had a very kind offer of solidarity coffees from a Cambridge University student. Afterwards, we had our traditional coffee and cake at the excellent Florey café. Next month we'll be back in London - news to follow.

Today April 15th marks the 37th anniversary of the Hillsborough stadium disaster. And tomorrow is the 12th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster. We remember all who died in these and other preventable disasters, and stand in solidarity with those who continue to fight for truth and justice.

This is our statement marking 12 years since the Sewol ferry disaster of April 14th 2014. Join our next monthly gathering on Saturday April 18th 11.30-13.00 in New Malden High St (opposite 63 High St Cafe). We will have printed copies of the statement as well as Sewol ribbons and badges to hand out to the public.
