But some of the most meaningful influence happens quietly.

We often think we need confidence before we speak.
Before we volunteer.
Before we lead.
Before we try something unfamiliar.

But confidence often arrives afterwards. It grows because you spoke when you were nervous. Because you accepted the role.

Because you tried, received feedback and came back to try again.

At Liberty Speakers, we don't wait for confidence before taking action.

One word. One conversation. One moment of encouragement.

You never quite know how far the ripple will travel.

Thursday evening at Liberty Speakers was built around The Ripple Effect, with our Word of the Day, Influence, reminding us that the impact we have on others often extends further than we realise.

Through prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, thoughtful evaluations and plenty of laughter, we saw those ripples in action.

"How do I become more confident?"

The answer is usually surprising.

Confidence isn't where the journey begins. It's where the journey leads.

First comes curiosity.
Then courage.
Then practice.
Then experience.

Confidence is simply the result of showing up often enough.

The next time you admire a confident communicator, remember that you aren't seeing their beginning, you're seeing the result of many small steps.
