Alliance of Pro-Life Students - APS The Alliance of Pro-Life Students: we build, support and connect pro-life students across the UK

We are an organisation which welcomes those of no faith and all faiths. We are against practices which result in the destruction of existing human life which begins at fertilisation and should end at natural death. The issues we cover are abortion, euthanasia and the exploitation of embryos.

WE ARE THE PRO-LIFE GENERATION!

On Wednesday, the Telegraph released an article on the move to ban pills by post. It focused on the many terrible harms of access to abortion pills without seeing a doctor, but it also showed a graph with some amazing stats!

The graph shows that Gen Z are 18% less likely than baby boomers to support the statement:

"Women should have the right to an abortion".

Abortion is a backwards practice.

Gen Z wants to move away from countries like North Korea and China which support abortion until birth, and closer to European countries where the limit is 12 weeks on average.

A BIG thank you to for inviting APS to give a talk yesterday evening 👏

As usual, the focus of the talk was a question:

"What can you do to be more pro-life?" 🤔

We were very encouraged to hear discussion afterwards about ways that you would be getting involved, from pro-life movie nights to fundraising for pregnant students 🤰👩‍🎓

Keep up the great work! 💪🙏 Let's create a country where the most vulnerable are given the support they need.

Together, let's bring our unis back to life! ❤️

"F**k the church! F**k the state! We will decide our fate!"
"Get your rosaries of our ovaries!"

These ☝️ are just some of the expletive and aggressive chants that greeted APS's CEO Madeline when she left her talk at Manchester Uni last week.

Despite the talk being an open platform for students to discuss the pro-life stance, only 3 pro-choice students attended.

The vast majority formed an intimidating mob outside, who swarmed our young female CEO, meaning she needed a large police es**rt to get home safely 👮

It can be so hard to be at uni. So many students are actively hostile to the pro-life position. That's why we exist.

If you want to support Madeline, consider donating to APS at https://prolifestudents.charitysuite.com/donate

Though not all students, this is an amazing display of courage by young pro-lifers in London!

Well done Abortion Resistance for standing up for mother's and babies.

Keep up the good work! 💪🔥

Today’s rally in Trafalgar Square was amazing to say the least. In fact, it was probably the best we’ve ever held due to the amount of conversations we were able to have with members of the public!

Our theme this month was coerced abortions, enabled by the pills-by-post scheme which was legalised after covid. Many of the general public hadn’t heard about the pills-by-post scheme and were horrified at the risks it poses for women and of course, their unborn babies. We were able to find a lot of common ground with those we spoke to and thankfully didn’t receive any abuse!

Thank you to the 30 young people in attendance; your courage is inspiring and your witness to life is invaluable. 🤍

WE ARE GROWING

On Saturday, the Guardian released an article on the work of ADF UK. Despite its negative rhetoric, one point came out loud and clear. The pro-life movement in the UK is growing FAST and they admit it! Here are a few extracts:

“Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) [UK] has more than doubled its spending since 2020 [...] The ADF’s efforts to boost its UK influence are revealed as part of an Observer analysis that shows a SURGE in activity within the wider anti-abortion movement.” (emphasis added)

“Other anti-abortion groups have also ramped up activity here in recent months [...]

“Right to Life [...] is currently advertising vacancies for eight full-time staff”

“The Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform UK [...] has increased its staff numbers from four to 12 since 2017.

Like these groups, APS are also on the rise. We have had growing interest in students across the country in setting up a pro-life society at their uni. If you want to join them, contact us today at [email protected]

How can students make a pro-life change in 2024?

Well, yesterday Liverpool CathSoc organised a great event - writing letters asking to stop abortion decriminalisation and Pills by Post ✉️ We were very impressed by the turnout and we at APS had the pleasure of joining last night to help out.

Thank you to the organisers and SPUC (Society for the Protection of Unborn Children) Youth Conference 2024 for the inspiration!

Keep up the great work defending mothers and children 🤰

Together, let's bring out unis back to life! ❤️💪

P.S. Contact APS if you'd like to do something similar!

A massive thank you 👏 to Durham Chaplaincy for hosting Rohan from APS last night, who asked the question "how can you be more pro-life at uni?"

There were many excellent and engaging questions at the end, and we were excited to hear of discussions on how they can make Durham Uni a better place for mothers and babies alike 💪🤰

Together, let's bring our unis back to life ❤️

This week Mads from APS gave a great workshop - discussing abortion with charity and clarity - to the folk at Cambridge Pro-Life! 🤰❤️

There were lots of opportunities to practice articulating their position in pairs and to the group, helping them feel more equipped to share the truth about abortion with their peers and friends. 💪

Could you start a pro-life society at your uni? Contact us today!🔥 [email protected]
