Bhagavad Gita Chapter 6, Verse 5 teaches that you must lift yourself up through your own mind, not pull yourself down. Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

The verse reminds us that real growth comes through self-effort, discipline, and inner mastery. When the mind is trained, it supports us; when uncontrolled, it creates stress, distraction, and suffering.

In simple terms: You are responsible for your own growth. Train your mind, don’t let it control you.

This is the first of five key verses selected by Chinmaya Mission as part of the Gita Panchamrit, a set of essential teachings from the Gita that offer practical wisdom for living.

We’re so excited to introduce you to some of the incredible performers joining us on Saturday 27 June β€” and we’ll be sharing more over the coming days.

Aparna is a Carnatic violinist of rare depth β€” expressive, technically brilliant, and utterly captivating. Born into a family of distinguished musicians, she has performed at the Darbar Festival, graced the stage at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and toured internationally. She is, quite simply, a violinist to watch.

And on the night, she performs alongside her mother, Subathra Raguraman β€” a celebrated vocalist and the woman who first shaped Aparna’s musical world.

We’re sharing a beautiful video of the two of them playing β€” watch it, feel it, and you’ll understand why we can’t wait for 27 June. πŸ™

β€”

Early bird rates are still open β€” but not for long.
