Our friends at the Pioneer Trust not only have a beautiful ship you can sail on, but they also have a brilliant workshop where you can learn boat restoration, traditional boat building skills and help conserve our maritime heritage. They’re running a series of experience days so if you or a young person you know loves history, sailing and craftsmanship, this could be an excellent day for you. Book direct with the Pioneer Trust.

Congratulations LCpl Imy on winning the Best Original Composition with “The Dreadnought March” Sea Cadets National Competition & Events National Band Competition

A huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible, the TS Dreadnought team who made the packed lunches, the unit staff supporters and London Area Sea Cadets and London Area Sea Cadet Band Teams and especially (very especially) PO Gracie from Borough of Poole Sea Cadets, POC Jess from Cheshunt Sea Cadets & AC Ava from Sevenoaks Sea Cadets Public Page for their amazing performance of the winning piece.

Did you know Sea Cadets is one of the largest providers of free music education to secondary aged students in the country? The Sea Cadet bands can be seen performing all over the country and on TV including the Lord Mayor’s Show, marching up the Mall on Trafalgar Day and at numerous civic events.

If you happen to be in Royal Borough of Greenwich today near the Queen’s House and National Maritime Museum Royal Museums Greenwich you’ll see & hear the Sea Cadets National Competition & Events National Band Competition take place. Do drop by - it’s free to support. Amongst the hundreds of cadets will be Greenwich’s very own LCpl Imy entering as a soloist performer and with her own band composition, “The Dreadnought March”. Everyone here at TS Dreadnought thinks the title is a winner on its own 😍

Good luck to the London Area Sea Cadet Band competitors and all the entries from across the country.

If you know a young person who’d enjoy playing in a band, or if you want to lend your musical skills to encourage more young people in the fun of music, why not get in touch with your local Sea Cadet unit.

Good luck to all of our cadets and their families receiving GCSE results today.

Believe in yourself. You worked hard. You’ve shown enormous resilience. GCSEs are just one step on your path, and no matter what happens, your worth is never defined by a single test score.

We have our fingers crossed for all of you. We believe in you. We’re excited for you as you move on to your next adventure.

🌞 When life gives you an eclipse… bring a sextant. ⚓️😂

What better place to watch an eclipse than Greenwich — the home of time, navigation and the small matter of figuring out exactly where on Earth you are?

With some expert help from DDO Lt (SCC) Clarke, we got hands-on with a sextant and discovered that celestial navigation is considerably more complicated than simply pointing something at the sky and hoping for the best! 🧭🌍

There was plenty of sunshine, some serious concentration, a few “am I doing this right?” moments, and an excellent opportunity to combine astronomy, maritime history and Sea Cadet skills in one unforgettable afternoon.

Who knew that an eclipse could come with a navigation lesson? 🌒➡️🌞

Stars above, sextant in hand, and absolutely no need for Google Maps! 😄⚓️

Another fantastic day Offshore with the Dutch Sea Cadets - cruising to Middelharnis, engineering, catering, navigation, dinghy sailing and a Formation Foxtrot for the visiting VIPs and Sponsors.

We’ve had a beautiful day Offshore with the Dutch and Belgian Sea Cadets. All 15 ships at ZOKA2026 sailed in convoy from Rotterdam to Stellendam. It’s been fantastic learning and sharing experiences between us and the Corps; but most of all we’ve been having fun.

Thanks Lee Clark for the super sailing photo’s.
