Somewhat related to our previous post, as RML runs down towards the end we are returning to the previous arrangement where Tuesday evening meetings are open evenings, but THURSDAY evenings are for established and **self sufficient** members only, to allow them to concentrate on completing their own projects prior to the final shut down. **No training on tools, nor inductions or introductions will be possible on a Thursday** - sorry!

RML is coming to an end.

Recently the admin team has made the difficult decision not to take the new building and will be looking bring RML to an end.

RML has always been run by volunteers and the demands of planning and running the new building have become too much.
The plan was to create some paid positions through funding but some of that fell through. It's not the only reason but a key one.

We're conscious people may have some questions. We're prioritising letting you all know, over having all the next steps completely planned out, so please bear with us but here are some obvious ones.

When will we close?

This is currently being planned as there are a few groups involved but it's not an immediate closure and timing will come down to several factors:

When the council need little house back - TBC but by end of year. Likely we'll choose to close before that.
The willingness of volunteers to open and people to attend.

When it's convenient to organise the equipment and clearing the building around other life commitments.

What happens to equipment?

Currently planning this but broad aim is to find groups with similar interests that can benefit from it.

At some point we're likely to have got rid of enough that it doesn't make sense to open.

Some may be offered to members for donation/ free in time but not at this moment.

Could it keep going if I offer more help?

I'm afraid we're past that point for a number of reasons.

I just want to take the opportunity to give huge thanks to all those who have made RML such a welcoming community; thanks to the volunteers that kept it open, those that fixed things for the public, that fixed our tools and shared their knowledge, and all the makers and tea drinkers. Sad that it's ending but a lot to be proud of over the years.

We'll create a page to signpost other similar groups in the area and a bit further afield and give you updates when we have them.
