السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Nabi Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
This Jumu'ah let us reflect on: "Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ — A Mercy for All."
During this Mawlid al-Nabi ﷺ month,
remembering Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ is not merely about recounting his birth. It is about remembering the character, mercy and guidance he brought into a wounded world—and asking ourselves whether that light is visible in our own lives.
Allah ta'ala ﷻ says:
“And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.” (Qur’an, 21:107).
He ﷺ is Raḥmatan lil-‘ālamīn — a mercy to the worlds. His mercy extended to the poor, the orphan, the stranger, the enemy, the oppressed, animals and even those who harmed him.
And Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ taught us:“He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.”
(Sahih al- Bukhari)
The profoundquestion that we ought to ask ourseves is: If we say that we love Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ, where is his mercy in our lives? Is it in the way we speak to our spouses and children? In the way we treat those who serve us? In the way we forgive those who have hurt us? The Sunnah is not
something we read about. It is something we embody and act upon.
Mawlana Jalal al-Din beautiful captures that transformation saying: The Prophets are like guides to the path;
the path is not travelled by merely praising the guide.”
Our celebration of Mawlid al-Nabi ﷺ is therefore not only on our tongues—it must be in our character, our homes, our communities and our response to suffering.
And today, when we look towards Gaza and the suffering of innocent people in every corner of our world, the Prophetic model of mercy becomes even more urgent. We are collectively part of the Ummah Muhammadiyah ﷺ and that should awaken our conscience. We cannot claim to love the Messenger ﷺ while becoming indifferent to the pain of others.
Let us, therefore, send
ṣalawāt upon Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ, but also renew our commitment to his Sunnah: mercy instead of cruelty, justice instead of oppression, forgiveness instead of hatred, and compassion instead of indifference.
O Allah fill our hearts with the love of our Nabi ﷺ, so that we may transform his Sunnah into action, amin ya Rabb.
O Allah, ease the suffering of the people of Gaza and all the oppressed people, amin ya Rabb.
O Allah, protect the innocent, feed the hungry, heal the wounded, comfort those who grieve, and bring about lasting peace in our troubled world, amin ya Rabb.
O Allah, grant complete shifa' to all our ill and suffering ones and shower Your Infinite Mercy upon our departed ones, illuminating their graves, and elavating them to the lofty gardens of Jannat al-Firdaws,
آمين ثم آمين يا رب العالمي
