Established in 2011, Kaleidoscope Trust is a UK-based international charity fighting for a future where LGBTI+ people everywhere can live free, safe and equal lives. Around the world, the human rights and identities of LGBTI+ people are under attack. New discriminatory laws and policies are being proposed every week and a third of all countries still criminalise consensual same-sex relationships.

Kaleidoscope Trust is building a global movement to create a world where LGBTI+ people everywhere can live free, safe and equal lives. We work with political leaders in the UK and beyond to ensure global LGBTI+ issues are a priority. We ensure that activists have the resources, skills and training they need to learn from one another in order to create an enabling environment and change hearts and minds. And we bring together grassroots organisations with those in power to create that change.

Mark Segal has always chosen resistance and solidarity ✊

As an American social activist, he participated in the Stonewall riots in 1969 and was one of the original founders of the Gay Liberation Front.

Mark has helped shape so much of the LGBTI+ movement we know today and it was a real honour to see him at WorldPride - Pride Amsterdam.

Human Rights Conference Pride Amsterdam 🌎🌈

Opening the conference this morning, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten highlighted a growing wave of conservatism and coordinated efforts to roll back the rights and freedoms of LGBTI+ people globally.

This week, thousands of people are gathering in Amsterdam for WorldPride.

Just a short walk from the celebrations sits one of the world's most important LGBTI+ landmarks: the Homomonument.

Unveiled in 1987, it was the first monument dedicated to LGBTI+ people persecuted because of who they are.

WorldPride begins this week 🌍🏳️‍🌈

For the first time, Pride Amsterdam will host WorldPride, bringing together activists, communities and allies from across the globe under this year’s theme: UNITY.

As the city’s canals fill with colour, they’ll also carry a powerful reminder: our movement is strongest when we stand together ✊

Alongside the celebrations, the programme includes a Human Rights Conference, recognising that Pride is not only about visibility, but also about advancing equality.

At a time when many in our community are feeling the weight of recent events, coming together across borders matters more than ever.

Our team will be there, meeting partners old and new, joining important conversations and strengthening the connections that make our global movement resilient.

Statement on this weekend’s attack in Berlin

We are deeply saddened and alarmed by the attack that took place at Berlin’s Christopher Street Day on Saturday, July 25th.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected, their loved ones, and the wider LGBTI+ community in Berlin and beyond. No one should have to fear violence simply for gathering in celebration, solidarity and pride.

This incident is a painful reminder that, even in places where progress has been made, LGBTI+ communities continue to face threats and hostility. Across the world, we are witnessing growing efforts to target our communities through hate, disinformation and political division.

Pride has always been an act of courage. We stand in solidarity with everyone who continues to show up, organise and defend the right of all people to live openly, safely and with dignity.
