Blackheath Society The Blackheath Society exists to preserve and enhance the Blackheath area.

With a large membership and active body of volunteers, the Blackheath Society works on a wide variety of activities which will enhance the well being of our area for its continued enjoyment by current and future generations. If we hadn't spoken up and acted over the years, Blackheath and the Village would not be the place it is today - one of the most popular residential areas of London! As a publ

Tessa Boase who is a journalist and the author of Etta Lemon, will present a zoom on Etta Lemon who felt passionately about the cruel Victorian fashion for plumage, wings and whole dead birds on ladies’ hats. While in her twenties she helped found the RSPB, and was soon running the Society and pushing for anti plumage legislation. Contact [email protected] for access.
