Shoot Up Hill People's Centre For Change CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, THEIR FAMILIES AND THE WHOLE COMMUNITY We are also developing a full business plan.

We are a group of family carers of adults with severe learning disabilities who joined forces in 2010 to campaign against the closure of Shoot-Up-Hill day centre in Camden. This centre is a lifeline for users and their family members. It is the only
place many people feel they belong and have a community. At its best it is also a centre for excellent support and choices of activities. We presente

d an alternative proposal to run a much improved day service and open up to the wider community also bringing in families with younger disabled and non disabled children. In April 2012 our group won a reprieve from the council and received a promise that the building would not close until autumn 2015. Camden has also agreed to let our group pilot sessions out of hours in the building at Shoot-Up-Hill. We have now received charity status and we are now starting to raise the money which we need to buy the building at Shoot-Up-Hill. We are grateful for the kind support of the Coop Hub, the Lloyds / School of Social Entrepreneurs and the Lottery Awards for All and all our volunteers and supporters. We have been liaising with sister organisation's for advice and guidance. Please join our campaign and add your support. We are looking for more trustees and for volunteers to join us helping with everything from supporting our members, leading fun and innovative workshops, to fundraising, project planning, cooking and many other tasks. We are all really saddened by the death of our very dear Rita , Danny’s mother, who passed away yesterday evening
what a caring and loving person she was, her strength and zest for life and the courage she demonstrated through pain and life’s huge challenges.

We shall all miss you dearest friend. You were among the founders of People’s Centre and you are a part of all of us and left us many joyful memories to go into the future.
