The Vision:
In 1973 when I was 16 years of age, for the first time, television pictures of victims of the famine in Ethiopia were seen. These were the first news reports that were shown where the world at large was horrified at what was publicised in the media of starving children and adults. ‘An estimated 200,000 Ethiopians died in Wollo province as a result of this famine, a famine which was fa
mously brought to the world's attention by the BBC's Jonathan Dimbleby’. This had a profound effect on me, as I determined to do something about it. I cried out and asked God why? I did not know it then, but in response, God planted a vision within me for Africa. Some years later, in 1994 it was made manifested to me that God had given me this vision of Africa, a restoration of the continent of Africa. I had set about to learn all that I could about Africa and of her peoples. That is all things African. In a bid to understand better as to why Africa had become the way it is and therefore, to help to find ways to restore Africa to its former historical glory. Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision and make plain on paper; for the vision is yet for an appointed time... (Hab. 2:2-3). Behold, He said, at that time, I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame. In every land where they were put to shame; at that time I will bring you back, even at the time I gather you; for I will make your name known and give you praise; among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes”, says the LORD (Zeph. 3:19-20). These are scriptures that speak to us, even for our generations. I started to think things through, yet I wondered – How will these insurmountable challenges in the physical realm in Africa be achieved? and Wait!, – I was obedient. I wrote the vision. Nothing is impossible with God. Our greatest asset, is the presence of God. If God is with us, then who can be against us? Let it be said, as it was spoken – God takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and makes them wander in a pathless wilderness (Job 12:24). He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength. Could these, through God and the ancient people, carry a significant meaning for the Africans of today? These then are least known, little mentioned and untapped – In terms of an Africans’ perspectives on the Bible for divine revelation knowledge for such a time as this. For the vision concerns the whole multitude and it shall not turn back;… (Ezekiel 7:13). Contact me to learn more on this and how you too can join this God given Divine African Vision.
