Thanks to National Portrait Gallery for facilitating another wonderful creative session with the older people from Camden 🎨

Our older community members visited the latest Marilyn Monroe exhibition at the Gallery, and created their own monoprinting artwork inspired by Marilyn's iconic prints ✨️

Our Information & Advice Service is delighted to announce they have been awarded funding from the Independent Age Boosting Advice Fund. 💝

This funding will enable us to expand our current I&A Service delivery which will mean we can support more older Camden residents aged 65+ who are facing financial hardship. Age UK Camden is very thankful and very much looking forward to working with Independent Age! 🤝

200 people from our Camden neighbourhood enjoyed a lovely BBQ party with us today! ☀️

We celebrated a warm community spirit and our diversity through meeting new people, sharing our love of delicious food and enjoying joyful conversations, forming genuine connections in a society where isolation and loneliness is becoming ever so prevalent.

A big thank you to Kings Cross & Bloomsbury Community Connectedness Response Fund Camden Council Keir Starmer Cllr Lotis Bautista, Cllr Liam Martin-Lane, Cllr Jonathan Simpson for helping us, Kings Cross-Brunswick Neighbourhood Association and Community Champions Kings Cross to make this happen ✨️

Thank you Pacific Life for donating 168 hot weather hampers for older people using our services 💝

Each came with a refreshing fruit drink, sun visor, sunscreen and a hand-held fan — perfect for combating the recent heat wave. ☀️ The fan was a favourite among the folk!

Recepients told us,

Drawing the Mayor of Camden Eddie Hanson at the National Portrait Gallery was truly a memorable experience for the older people who attend monthly exhibition viewing and creative sessions at the Gallery🎨

Thank you to the Mayor's Office of Camden Council and the National Portrait Gallery for facilitating this wonderful event that celebrated Camden's diversity and heritage with the older community in Camden. ❤️
