Thanks for visiting James - hope to see you again 🎶❤️🎶

After a week away looking after a relative following their hip replacement, it was back to normal today. I joined Musicworks at the Heron Music Cafe at the Poppy and Pint for one of the weekly sessions tailored towards people living with or supporting relatives with dementia. So many people told me that it's the highlight of their week!

It was there that I met 86-year-old Richard McCance who was the first openly gay person to be elected in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire back in 1983. He told me how he is determined to remain politically active, despite his dementia - and his friends and carers are doing an amazing job of making that possible!

What a heart-warming session it was! 🏳️‍🌈🎶🧠
