Classic Matinee Screening of Sunset Boulevard
Mon 16th March 2026
2:30pm - 4:15pm
Rio Cinema 107 Kingsland High Street, London E8 2BP

The historic Rio cinema has an incredible offer to view their current film “Sunset Boulevard” for just £2.50!

Enjoy a tea or coffee before or after the film and have a chat with other viewers and the wonderful Rio cinema staff. This March, Rio presents Sunset Boulevard - Billy Wilder’s darkly glamorous Hollywood noir masterpiece. Gloria Swanson delivers an unforgettable performance as Norma Desmond, a former silent-film star clinging to dreams of past fame as the industry moves on without her. Stylish, unsettling and razor-sharp, Sunset Boulevard explores ageing, ambition and the brutal treatment of women in the film industry, remaining relevant as ever and just as haunting today as it was on release.

You can book online by https://riocinema.org.uk/or pay at the door on the day.

We were so proud to attend the official reopening of Hackney Central Library and even prouder that two of our wonderful members, Margaret and Antonia, took to the mic to speak at the event. 🎤✨

The atmosphere was incredible, with over 150 people at the reopening and hundreds already signed up to join since the doors reopened. It’s clear just how much this space means to our community.

The beautifully redesigned library filled with books, murals, plants, exhibitions and even a mini grand piano 🎹 feels like a true community hub.

Libraries are about connection, learning and belonging at every stage of life values we care deeply about at Hackney Circle. Seeing our members’ voices included in such an important moment for Hackney was very special.
