We’re recruiting: Exercise and Socialise Coordinator

📍 Age UK Lambeth | Lambeth (Hybrid)

🕒 £24,835 (31.5 hours); due to a change in funding, this is reducing to 14 hours in 2027; see job description for full details.

Age UK Lambeth is seeking an Exercise and Socialise Coordinator to support the delivery and development of a borough-wide programme of accessible, low-impact exercise sessions for older adults.

This role is central to improving physical health, confidence, and wellbeing among frail and less confident older people, while also contributing to reduced social isolation and increased community connection.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating referrals, matching participants to appropriate activities, sourcing venues, engaging instructors, and supporting the delivery of a diverse range of exercise sessions across Lambeth. We are looking for someone with experience in coordinating services or activities, strong partnership-working skills, and a commitment to improving outcomes for older people.

Ageism is happening every day across London - and for the first time, Age UK London have the evidence to show just how widespread it is.

Age UK London’s new research with over 1,300 older Londoners reveals:

• 51% have experienced ageism
• 37% feel devalued
• 25% feel disempowered
• 62% don’t feel able to challenge it

Ageism is affecting confidence, emotional wellbeing, and how older people are treated in public spaces, on transport, in shops, and even in health services.

This has to change.

Age UK London is launching their London Against Ageism campaign to challenge
discrimination wherever it appears and to ensure older Londoners are respected, valued and heard.

We are standing with Age UK London and helping to call out ageism.
