๐ When you look deeper, you find the root of the problem.
For Tolulope Oguntayo, the journey to empowering women began with confronting gender-based violence. But after reaching thousands of women, she and her organisation discovered something deeper: economic dependency can reinforce cycles of inequality and vulnerability.
That insight sparked a shift.
Through the Women Empowerment and Inclusion Network (WEIN), formerly Lead Footprints Africa, Tolulope is now building pathways for women to achieve economic independence, grow businesses and access opportunities beyond their immediate communities.
Already, her work has reached 3,000+ women through programmes, events and advocacy initiatives.
Her vision is even bigger: 10,000 women entrepreneurs across 10 African countries, supported through entrepreneurship, cross-border trade, business knowledge, networks and opportunities for growth.
Today, we celebrate a changemaker turning that question into action. ๐
