✨ What an evening! Yesterday we celebrated the graduation of our incredible first cohort at the end of the Local Government Training Programme — and what a powerful way to close this chapter.

A huge thank you to our participants for trusting us, committing to the journey, and showing such dedication throughout the programme. Your ambition and resilience are exactly why this work matters. We are so proud of you! 🎓

Our heartfelt thanks to Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, for joining us and delivering such an inspiring speech on the importance of local government truly reflecting its communities.

And a special thank you to our brilliant panellists — Lukasz Konieczka, Eric Sterling, and Agnieszka Spruds — for sharing your journeys, insights, and practical advice with such honesty and generosity. Your stories made a real impact.

This is just the beginning. The future of local government is more inclusive because of you. 💙

✨ And just like that, we’ve wrapped up our final workshop!

On Saturday, we held the last session of SEC’s Local Government Training Programme, focusing on Applying for Jobs in the Public Sector led by our Executive Director Adina Maglan. It’s been an incredible journey over the past couple of months, and we’re so proud of the participants’ engagement, growth, and dedication throughout the programme. We’re confident that the skills and insights gained will support many of them in securing meaningful roles within local government—and our support doesn’t end here. We’ll continue to champion them on this next step in their careers.

🎓 We’re now looking ahead to Thursday’s Graduation Event, where we’ll celebrate the achievements of our participants, enjoy insightful discussions, and proudly present certificates to this inspiring cohort.

🚀 We’ve officially kicked off our Local Government Training Programme!

On Saturday 11 October, we hosted our first workshop on UK Politics, led by our CEO & Co-Founder Teo Benea

We were thrilled to welcome the 10 incredible participants in this first cohort — each bringing inspiring experiences and a deep commitment to migrant justice. The discussions were lively, thoughtful, and left us all feeling energised for what’s ahead! 💬✨

We’re now looking forward to our next workshop, Understanding Local Government, led by David Tross on 15 October.
