📚Happy World Book Day from Turn a Corner!

We've been celebrating the magic of reading at our library and support hub for people experiencing street homelessness – and yes, we made our own costumes 😊

The ‘mini Turn a Corner’ is a recycled box.

Sam’s ‘book skirt’ is made from discarded book and colouring book pages. Today it'll be repurposed as part of her daughter’s ‘Queen of Books’ costume.

At Turn a Corner, we believe that everyone deserves access to the joy and escape that books can bring.

It all started with one story – and led to support for thousands.

15 years on and our Down to Earth team is still here for people struggling to pay for food, rent AND a funeral.

Funeral costs have skyrocketed in that time, and the need for compassionate support has only grown.

🎧QSA Director Judith Moran sat down with View Magazine to talk about the history of QSA – and what we need to do TODAY to tackle poverty and encourage compassion.

That financial stress takes a real toll on mental health.

These findings from the latest SunLife Cost of Dying Report match what we see daily at our funeral costs support service, Down to Earth.

Average cost of a simple attended funeral: 🔶 £3,828

Increase in people contacting our helpline*:🔶20%
