💜 Celebrating Small Charity Week 💜

This Small Charity Week feels particularly special for us as we celebrate 25 years of supporting people affected by cancer across West London and beyond.

Since opening our doors in 2001, Mulberry Cancer Support has provided free emotional, practical and wellbeing support to thousands of people living with cancer, as well as their families and carers. From counselling and support groups to complementary therapies and wellbeing activities, we're here to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

As a small independent charity, everything we do is made possible by the generosity of our supporters, volunteers, fundraisers, local businesses and community partners. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue providing vital services to those who need them most.

As we mark our 25th anniversary and look ahead to the future, we'd be incredibly grateful for your support.

💜 Managing Intimate Health After a Cancer Diagnosis 💜

Join us on Wednesday 8 July, 12.30pm – 1.30pm via Zoom for an informative and supportive workshop with Lavinia Winch, Brand Ambassador for the YES range of organic intimacy products.

Many women are unprepared for the menopausal side effects that can result from hormone therapy, radiotherapy or chemotherapy following breast and gynaecological cancer treatment. This session provides a safe and welcoming space to explore these often-overlooked topics.

Through an open, relaxed and honest discussion, Lavinia will share information, practical advice and support to help women better understand and manage changes to their intimate health after a cancer diagnosis.

🐘✨ Workshop Snapshot ✨🐘

Here's a glimpse into one of our creative wellbeing workshops, where participants are working on beautifully creating elephants over a number of weeks! Following on from the success of last years teddy bear workshops, the attendees are now taking on the challenge of making elephants in preparation for a fantastic circus theme event in September! 🎪

As well as learning new skills and exploring their creativity, these sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect with others and enjoy some dedicated time for wellbeing in a supportive environment.

We can't wait to see the finished herd when all of the elephants are complete!

✨ A New Name for the Next Chapter ✨

As we celebrate 25 years of supporting people affected by cancer, we're proud to announce that The Mulberry Centre will now be known publicly as Mulberry Cancer Support.

Our new name reflects what we've always done – providing free emotional, practical and wellbeing support to people living with cancer, as well as their families and carers.

While our name is changing, our mission remains exactly the same: ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 25 years. We look forward to continuing to support our community as Mulberry Cancer Support. 💜

A Huge Thank You 💙

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Oliver Curren Construction Ltd for their incredible generosity and support.

Last week, the team carried out essential groundworks in our garden to help us prepare for the installation of a new storage shed and pergola. In an extraordinary gesture of kindness, the company decided not to charge us for the work, saving the charity up to £1,000.

These funds can now be redirected towards the increasing cost of materials for the project, as well as much-needed repairs to the Mulberry Room ceiling.

As a charity supporting people affected by cancer, we are continually humbled by the generosity of local businesses and individuals. Michael Kelly and the team at Oliver Curran Construction Ltd have shown what community support truly looks like, and we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you for helping us continue our work and for making such a meaningful difference to our charity and the people we support.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported The Mulberry Centre's "Grow Hope This Spring" Plant Sale at the end of May.

Across the three sale days, our wonderful community came together to support people affected by cancer, helping to make this year's event a fantastic success.

Thanks to your generosity and support, we:
🌿 Sold an incredible 377 plants
🎟 Sold 45 raffle tickets
💜 Raised an amazing £2,386 over the three days, with additional post-sale purchases still to be added
☕ Raised a further £120+ in refreshment donations

The event also provided a fantastic opportunity to boost sales for our Spring Raffle, which will be drawn on 24 June. If you haven't got your tickets yet, there's still time – and we have some wonderful prizes up for grabs!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the event possible, including:

• (Syon Park)

• Simon Lord and Lord's Horticulture

• Our fantastic home growers who generously donated plants
• Our dedicated volunteers and staff who gave their time, enthusiasm and support throughout the event

From donating plants, cakes and refreshments to helping run stalls, offering gardening advice and welcoming visitors, every contribution played a part in making the Plant Sale such a success.

More than just a fundraiser, the event brought people together, spread hope throughout the spring season and helped raise vital funds so we can continue providing free emotional, practical and wellbeing support to people affected by cancer.

Thank you all for your help, support and enthusiasm. These achievements would not have been possible without you, and we are incredibly grateful for your commitment to The Mulberry Centre.

A huge thank you to St Michael & All Angels Church for giving us the opportunity to host a charity stall at the Green Days on 13th and 14th June.

What a fantastic weekend celebrating the Chiswick community! The atmosphere was incredible, with community sport, local businesses, charities, residents and volunteers all coming together to make the event such a success. It was a wonderful example of the community spirit that makes Chiswick such a special place.

We were delighted to be part of the festival and especially honoured to have been selected as one of the three charities supported by St Michael & All Angels Church.

A special thank you to Torin Douglas, Jeannie Shapiro, Margaret Hill and everyone at St Michael & All Angels Church for their support and warm welcome throughout the weekend.

We would also like to thank Jane Kelly, our former trustee, for their ongoing support of our work.

Most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers and Charlie Floss and PureGym Chiswick who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm over the two days. Events like these simply wouldn't be possible without you.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many members of the local community, sharing and raising the profile of our vital services, and being part of such a positive and inspiring event.
