What a great day today when the flagship project Dark Thoughts sure our young team and director Jasbir Nangla shoot at the Museum of London docklands. The Museum's team did a tremendous job filling all of us with vast knowledge of the history of freedom fighters of African descent, the trade of enslaved Africans and multi dimensional nature of the human experience with this part of history. The Museum in combination with Mind brought together sites, sounds, smells and wisdom in an extremely interactive way. Have to shout out the engagement manager Shereen who was a great host. Then we headed into the galleries to picture this history during the creation process as we were joined by musicians, animators, Make up artists and the rest. Tremendous thanks to the entire team and this Museum.

Therapeutic productions CIC is an initiative led by a team of artists, project managers and social entrepreneurs who have chosen to use their artistic skills to raise awareness of and highlight social issues through film, music and art whilst using the process of creating art to assist those from underrepresented groups. We advance participation in arts to both upskill and empower communities by creating stories and delivering interventions focused on technical skills, soft skill development (including analytical, teamwork and organisational skills), employability and cultural awareness.

To this end we focus on mental health related, cultural heritage, youth and urban community projects. To date we have provided interventions to over 50 service users. Whilst our team has led heritage projects with archivists, created feature films and historical documentaries working with 200 young people.

They have chosen to use their artistic skills to bring the stories of those who have gone through the psychiatric system to life and use art as a healing process for those from ethnic minority communities. We were founded in 2021 as a constituted community group and registered as a CIC in 2023.

Collectively our team has over 18 years of experience as lived experience practitioners in the mental health sector and have worked for the Royal college of psychiatrists as service user representatives, worked as experts by experience for the Royal Bethlem hospital and peer trainers under the Recovery college (forensic campus). Over this period of time, we have designed and delivered workshops to over 150 mental health patients and presented workshops to over 200 mental health professionals.
