Who helped you become the lawyer—and Christian—you are today?

Most of us can name someone.

We need people like that. And we can be people like that.

LCF Mentoring is now open for 2026–27, and we're inviting applications from both mentors and mentees.

If you're a student, trainee, newly qualified lawyer, or at any stage of your legal career and would value someone to walk alongside you, we'd love to hear from you.

And if you've been in the profession for a while, perhaps this is your opportunity to invest in the next generation.

On the evening of 20 February 1952, Westminster Chapel London opened its doors to welcome LCF members, family and friends as they came together for the centenary thanksgiving service of the fellowship. The Rt. Hon. Lord Denning, as President, gave an address before Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones shared a message. We consider it a blessing to still have access to what they shared that evening and it is reproduced here for you as we look forward to our 175th anniversary thanksgiving service in 6 months time.

How do you remain faithful when the world is in crisis?

Chapter 5 of our LCF History Project takes us back to the years surrounding the Second World War, when the Lawyers' Prayer Union (now the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship) continued to meet, pray, encourage one another, and keep their eyes fixed on Christ.

Amid uncertainty, members shared biblical reflections, wrote letters from the Armed Forces, and reminded one another that while opinions might differ, their unity in Christ remained. The ordinary rhythms of prayer, fellowship, and faithfulness became a powerful testimony during extraordinary times.

This chapter also marks a significant moment in our story: in 1950, the Lawyers' Prayer Union officially became the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship—the name we continue to bear today.

Join us on the 14 November in Edinburgh for the 2026 LCF Annual Conference & AGM, as we consider what it means to be witnesses for Jesus in Law.

Why attend?
In our recent survey LCF members told us that they're comfortable telling people they're Christians, but they were uncertain about how. Join us to be equipped and inspired now for the "how".

Where?
Buccleuch Free Church, Edinburgh | Saturday, 14 November 2026 | 9:30am

If you are a student or young lawyer, join us from 6pm on Friday and make a weekend of it. We'll explore what it means to be a faithful witness for Christ at university, in training, and in the early years of legal practice.

We’re delighted to share Chapter 3 of the LCF History Project as we journey towards our 175th anniversary.

Chapter 3: The first 50 Years - Iron Sharpening Iron

"The latter half of the 19th century saw the Lawyers' Prayer Union (LPU) grow, members joined from all over the UK (York to Yeovil, Somerset to Scarborough, Cambridge to Carlisle) and while the records show little of what was accomplished specifically in the name of the LPU, there are many accounts of the works that the members were able to accomplish, often while working together in the way described in Proverbs 27:17.

Lord Cairns was a member, the youngest Lord Chancellor of the 19th Century, but one drawn to support works such as Barnardo's while also being ready to declare in public; "on the seventh day I am God's man only"3 – resulting in him declining to take cases which would involve him working on the Lord's Day."

A lawyer is trained for trial. To test the evidence, examine the witnesses, and weigh the case carefully.

That is the vision behind Fair Hearing. Experienced members of the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship — judges, barristers, and solicitors — invite readers to explore John’s Gospel as eyewitness testimony, asking the kinds of questions lawyers ask every day.

What evidence is presented?
How credible are the witnesses?
Did Jesus receive a fair trial?

This is a fresh and thought-provoking resource for lawyers, students, and anyone interested in examining the case for Jesus with intellectual rigour.

A book is coming. A trial scene is in development. Exciting resources lie ahead.
