💛 Practical help for parents - apply online today. We believe no fashion or textile family should struggle financially to meet their child's basic needs. Founded in 1853 by a group of philanthropic textile merchants, FTCT supports children aged under 18 years with grants towards e

ssential items such as clothing, bedding and shoes. We can also provide grants for more specialist educational or mobility needs. A grant is a financial donation which does not have to be repaid. It is not a loan and there are no hidden catches. We are the UK fashion and textile industry’s charity – backed by the industry, supporting the children of people working in the industry. This was one of the comments shared in our recent parent survey, and it's a reminder that behind every statistic is a real family trying to make things work 💙💗

In our recent survey, 47% of parents told us their child had worn school uniform that no longer fit because buying new wasn't possible. Half also said that saving for back-to-school costs simply isn't realistic when everyday household bills come first.

School uniforms go through a lot during the school year! 👕🎒

A few simple habits can help them stay in good condition for longer, from treating stains early and making small repairs to labelling items so they're less likely to end up in lost property.

And if your child has outgrown something, remember that buying new isn't your only option. School uniform banks, school sales and community groups can all be great places to find good-quality pre-loved uniforms.
