Quakers in Britain Quakers believe there is that of God in everyone and are committed to working for equality and peace. Avoid hurtful criticism and provocative language.

We use social media to provide information about Quakerism, and to engage people with the work we do on behalf of Quakers. Our social media channels are a place for conversation and discussion. To make this possible, we moderate comments based on Advices and queries 17 (https://qfp.quaker.org.uk/chapter/1/):

“Do you respect that of God in everyone though it may be expressed in unfamiliar ways or

be difficult to discern? Each of us has a particular experience of God and each must find the way to be true to it. When words are strange or disturbing to you, try to sense where they come from and what has nourished the lives of others. Listen patiently and seek the truth which other people’s opinions may contain for you. Do not allow the strength of your convictions to betray you into making statements or allegations that are unfair or untrue. Think it possible that you may be mistaken.”

We ask people to follow these guidelines:
• Be respectful of others.
• Do not make personal attacks in your comments.
• Do not post content that is irrelevant, inflammatory, offensive, or abusive.
• Do not post adverts for commercial products or services.

Following recent legal developments, we have refreshed and reaffirmed our commitment to providing trans-inclusive toilet facilities at Friends House in London, and Swarthmoor Hall in Cumbria. Self-contained, single-sex toilets are also available.

The full policy sets out principles that inform the approach to toilets on Quakers in Britain's premises and outlines the details of available toilets. These arrangements have operated successfully for the past 15 months.

Quakers in Britain has refreshed and reaffirmed its commitment to providing trans-inclusive facilities across its buildings.
