With another sweltering heatwave upon us, over 1,500 bus drivers employed by Arriva London North have begun strike action over the dangerous working conditions caused by extreme temperatures. 🔥

During the July heatwave, London bus driver and rep SJ went viral with his passionate call for bus bosses and politicians to ensure vehicles are fit for purpose. 🌡️

However it wasn't just his plea that caught your attention. Many of you thought SJ had a celebrity lookalike, and his workmates agreed.

As another heatwave makes conditions for London drivers unbearable, accelerating the fatigue crisis, SJ responds to your comments - and says he's proud to have his voice heard, whatever it takes!

Bus driver fatigue is a safety issue; long hours, poor rotas and inadequate rest put drivers, passengers and other road users at risk.

The solution is simple: safe staffing, proper breaks, sensible rotas and enough rest between shifts.

We are calling on Andy Burnham, Transport for London and bus operators to meet with us. Workers deserve better and passengers deserve to be safe.

Safe buses need safe working conditions.

Potential strikes at Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge are off after workers accepted an improved pay offer.

The 5.75% increase on base pay and allowances was secured after the highly skilled engineers delivered a decisive strike mandate to the company.

🚨Breaking. Unite at Norwich Theatre.

Unite the Union now have a very significant number of members who work as hospitality assistants and supervisors at Theatre Royal and Norwich Playhouse.

Our members have serious concerns about.

👉Hyper casualised work and a lack of guaranteed hours.
👉Third party harassment.
👉Poor training practices.
👉A spate of recent dismissals denying Trade Union representation.

We call upon senior management to reach out to us to resolve these issues and recognise Unite as the Union for hospitality workers at Norwich Theatre
