Delighted to announce we will be hosting our Midsummer Supper in the gardens on Sunday June 21st - to celebrate the solstice, nature and community. This was a unique and magical evening last year so do book early.

There will be live jazz, readings, amazing food served on long tables and delicious drinks.

The Trustees of the Streatham Common Community Garden were very saddened to hear the news of Judy Harris’ passing.

Judy was a valued supporter of the Garden and a passionate advocate for Streatham as a whole. Her encouragement, kindness and commitment to the local community will be remembered with gratitude.

Garden update: It's time to clear out the brassicas and prepare the soil for the new growing season. We'll also be pulling out the garlic, and we’ll have plenty of organic, locally grown garlic for sale! 🧄

🌿 What: Clearing, prepping, and garlic harvesting!
🌿 Why: To get our garden ready for the next season and support our community with fresh, organic produce. 🌾

🌳 Winter Tree Pruning Workshop 🌳
📅 Sunday 1 February

📍 Streatham Common Community Garden (The Rookery), SW16 3BZ

Winter is the perfect time to prune trees. While they’re dormant, trees experience less stress, heal better, and are set up for strong, healthy growth in spring.

Join us for a friendly, hands-on workshop that will give you the confidence to tackle what can feel like a daunting garden task. Led by community gardener Patrick McCabe, we’ll start indoors with clear, practical guidance on the theory of pruning. After a tea break, you’ll head into the garden for supervised, practical experience.

✨ All tools provided
🧤 Please bring your own gardening gloves
☕ Tea & coffee included
🌦️ Dress warmly – we’ll be outdoors after the break
💷 Cost: Standard rate: £20 & Low wage / unwaged: £15

Happy New Year to our wonderful community! We’re thrilled to begin 2026 with one of our favourite annual traditions. Our AGM will take place on Sunday 4 January at 12pm, lasting around an hour, and it’s a fantastic chance to reflect on the past year together. After the AGM, we’ll gather to wassail - an ancient tradition of singing, dancing and blessing the orchard for a fruitful year. We’ll fill the garden with vibrant music, joyful movement and festive cheer. It’s always a magical event, and we warmly invite everyone to join us, whether you’re a regular visitor or brand new to the garden. It’s free and open to all - come celebrate with us!
