Introducing Sara 💚

We want you to meet the volunteers and staff behind our clubs. The people who show up, week after week, because they believe in our community.

Sara has been volunteering with CASPA for over three years. She came to us after taking early retirement, but as she puts it: "I still felt I needed a purpose and to give back a little to my local community."

With neurodiverse family members, CASPA felt personal. She was clear from the start about where she wanted to be: "I wished to support older members rather than school age children, as I felt my maturity and experience could engage with these members better."

Three years on, she's still here. Just last week, a new member joined a Dungeons & Dragons session for the very first time. They'd been isolated and were looking for friendship. By the end of the evening, they'd made a genuine connection with another member and left happy.

"The growth and confidence I have seen in many members has been truly inspiring. Some members just needed a little more encouragement to find their way in life and to believe in themselves."

If you're thinking about volunteering, Sara's message is simple:
"I have found it incredibly rewarding, seeing members growing in confidence and being happy to be themselves, without any judgement."

CASPA runs clubs for autistic people of all ages, from our Tots sessions right through to Infinity for our older members.

Whatever your background, we would love to hear from you.

A small change. A big difference. 💚

Last Friday at our Inters club, staff used Makaton skills from their recent training , and the impact was immediate. Members were more engaged, more connected, and more themselves.

Makaton uses signs and symbols alongside speech.

For young people who find spoken language difficult, it can open up a whole new way of connecting.

This is what happens behind the scenes at CASPA. Quiet, consistent work. Staff who keep learning so our clubs can keep improving.

Because every young person deserves a space where they can truly communicate.

Four days. The Saxon Shore Way. An extraordinary amount raised for CASPA.

Waved off by the Mayor of Bromley, Dover to Sittingbourne, 40 runners, walkers and support crew took on stunning Kent coastline, countryside and marshes together.

The weather was glorious, locals were warmly welcoming, and four CASPA members joined the challenge too, fully participating and fundraising along the way. Thanks to the support crew, keeping a team of 40 fed, hydrated and supported is no small feat!
Thanks to our event sponsor McColloch Roofing and Building Maintenance.

By day two they had smashed through £20,000. And they kept going.

The trainers are off now, but the impact of what you have raised will be felt by the CASPA community for a long time to come.

You are phenomenal. Thank you. 💚
