CASPA Autism Online

CASPA Autism Online CASPA has been providing invaluable support and enriching experiences to autistic individuals and their families since 2002. πŸ’š Charity Number: 1200786

Beginning as a small group run by parents in a church hall, we have grown into a multifaceted, award-winning charity and a supportive, fun and caring community of like-minded people who think differently. Our clubs and services include: Social clubs in age divisions, weekend and holiday trips and activities (including our beloved summer residentials), life skills workshops and online communities.

From feeding curiosity with sensory activities to self-expression through performing arts activities. There’s fun and connection to be had whatever your interests! We are based in the London Borough of Bromley and operate at a number of venues in central Bromley and Orpington, but welcome members from the surrounding areas. Our online services can be accessed from anywhere. Our Vision

To build a society in which autistic individuals feel understood and empowered to be their full self and live their best life. Our Mission

CASPA encourages autistic pride and supports autistic individuals to have fun, learn life skills, and make safe and inclusive community connections

Tomorrow is GCSE results day.

For thousands of young people, and their parents and carers, tonight probably feels like a strange mix of nerves, hope, and maybe a bit of dread.

If that's you tonight, you're not alone.

For many autistic young people, the run-up to results day can be especially hard. The uncertainty, the waiting, the pressure of a system that doesn't always work the way their brain does. And for parents and carers, tonight might mean trying to stay calm for your child while your own mind is racing too.

Grades don't show:

what skills and talents you have
your creativity
your love and kindness for others
your reliability or loyalty
the positive difference you make to other people's lives
how interesting you are to talk to

They also don't show:

how much courage it took to sit in that exam hall
the sensory environment you had to push through just to get there...
how many times you masked to get through the school day
your ability to problem-solve in ways that no syllabus teaches
how well you understand yourself and how deeply you feel things
your determination to keep going and how far you've come πŸ’š

Celebrate the wins and be gentle with the rest.
You are so much more than a grade on a page.
Whatever tomorrow brings, there is always support... and there is always CASPA.

πŸ’¬ Know someone who needs to read this tonight? Please send it to them. If you're not already part of our community, follow CASPA and join us online. Together, we are stronger.

"CASPA gives you life skills to be more independent β€” like travel training, how to cook and how to talk to people... CASPA is like one big family, we have all made friends for life."

This is what our members tell us matters most, not just the skills, but the sense of belonging that comes with them.

From learning to travel independently, to cooking a meal from scratch, to building the confidence to join a conversation. Every skill our members build at CASPA is a step towards greater independence and better futures.

That's the CASPA difference.

Two weeks left! ⏰ CASPA's Big Give pledge deadline is 28 August 2026.

We're aiming to raise Β£3,750 in Pledges, and so far, brilliant supporters have pledged Β£700.

Here's the exciting bit: when you pledge, Big Give will double it with funding from its own Champion partners. That doubled pot is then used to match public donations during campaign week in December, so your support goes even further.

It costs nothing until then. If you, your business, or someone you know could help, we'd love to hear from you before the deadline.

We received a message today, it started as a club cancellation...

A mum writing to let us know her son Dominic would no longer be attending Beyond club. She was cancelling his membership and wondering if she needed to tell anyone else.

But before she signed off, she added something.

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for giving Dominic a safe space to find himself and, most importantly, to find friends and have a sense of belonging. For so many years he never went out, never had any friends, and as a mum, it was truly heartbreaking. CASPA has helped him so much to move forward and feel part of a community."

Dominic is ready to move on. He has found his people, his confidence, and he no longer needs us in the same way.

We recently shared Josh's story, a little boy of almost eight whose family wrote to cancel his weekly sessions, and hidden inside that letter was everything. A child ready to take the stabilisers off and move forward on his own terms.

Dominic's story is different. A different age, a different club, a different journey, but the same truth at the heart of it.

The goal has never been dependency, it has always been development. We want to be here when people need us. When they are ready to move forward, we celebrate that just as loudly as any other milestone.

To the whole Beyond team, staff and volunteers β€” thank you. πŸ’š

He wasn't at the bottom of a tree...

He was Jack, standing at the foot of a magical beanstalk and somewhere above him, a giant was waiting.

He was four years old, playing an imaginative game entirely of his own making.

At the weekend, CASPA Tots past and present came together for a family day and it was a joy to watch the play unfold.

Autistic people can have vivid, wonderful imaginations, just like everyone else, sometimes even more so. What they should never have is someone else's assumption about what they are, or aren't capable of.

We don't believe in limits at CASPA. Just children, being exactly who they are. πŸ’š

We are incredibly proud to welcome Jonathan Andrews as a CASPA Ambassador. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Many of you will already know Jonathan. He has been part of the CASPA family for many years, from volunteering and building rockets out of junk modelling, to choosing us as his charity for his Mayoral duties at the London Borough of Bromley.

Now he is a CASPA Ambassador and we are thrilled!

Our CEO Sarah Towler says it best: "Jonathan is an inspirational leader within his field and within the autistic community. We have been lucky enough to know him for many years and we couldn't be more grateful to have him as part of our family."

Jonathan is an associate solicitor, an award-winning champion for disability and neurodiversity inclusion, and a proud autistic person. He has been recognised as a Top Neurodiversity Role Model worldwide and spoken at the UN, the OECD, and the Council of Europe.

To us, he is simply Jonathan, someone who has always shown up for CASPA and for our community.

Welcome to the next chapter, Jonathan. πŸ’š

Big news πŸ“’ CASPA is joining the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026.

From 1 to 8 December, every donation made to CASPA will be doubled, pound for pound. Twice the impact for autistic children, adults and their families.

But first, we need Pledgers. A Pledger commits a sum of money in advance, before the campaign launches, which is then used to match public donations during the campaign week. It is the engine that makes the whole thing work.

If you, your business, or someone you know would like to become a Pledger for CASPA, please get in touch. Deadline: 28th August 2026. It costs nothing until December.

This is one of the most powerful ways you can support us right now. https://community.biggive.org/s/pledge?campaignId=a05WS00000FlFuDYAV

We will be sharing much more about the Christmas Challenge as December approaches. Watch this space.
