Irish in Britain

Irish in Britain We are a national membership coalition, founded by and for the Irish community in Britain - progressive voice for community development and representation.

We support a wide network of diverse Irish organisations that make up our membership across Britain. The Irish community is made up of many inspirational organisations and individuals, our purpose is to bring together these many voices – to share expertise, to represent, to campaign for and support the growth and wellbeing of our community and the infrastructure around it.

Sean recalled moving to England speaking only Irish & we're really happy to hear how much it means to his family that his story is still being heard💚

"I would encourage anyone to come to this exhibition"

Broadcaster Lynette Fay on why she found the honesty of the stories told in our Look Back to Look Forward exhibition so moving.

The oral histories shed light on the lives and experiences of people from across the island of Ireland who moved to Britain and we are delighted to be showing this exhibition in Belfast for the first time.

It's free and open 11am-4pm every day till 16 August at Elmwood Hall, Queen's University Belfast
