Working together
WoodhousPlus in SA is part of Woodhouse College’s enrichment program and is for students that are keen to make a difference in the lives of others. This program has two main aspects: a community project in South Africa and a fundraising aspect to cover all costs accrue.
The community project, working in collaboration with a local SA school, HoedspruitHub and K2C, will be planned by the students and then executed in July 2019 during a two week trip. The project involve two primary schools; Maatla Primary school and Seroko Primary school. They are located in the heart of the Limpopo district. Our students will support the community by building a playground for the Foundation stage children of the primary schools.
This trip and course is aimed at students that are keen to “create their own lives”. This enrichment program will help our students be better at problem solving, taking calculated risk, confident communication, financial literacy, relationship consciousness and working towards leading balanced lives. Skills that will set them up for their future, whether that is being a student, working on an apprentice scheme or taking a gap year before entering the world of work.
