This November, PPL is teaming up with PRS Foundation & Un-Convention to bring you a special night of music at in Manchester, celebrating 25 years of PRS Foundation and showcasing three incredible artists who have received vital PPL & PRS Foundation support to take their music to the next stage 🌍✨
🔥 Headlining is Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek, who has been cutting his teeth into the city’s spoken word scene with his seamless flow, skewering everything from the hardships of contemporary British life to the unexpected beauty in the everyday. His 2023 single “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Fallacy” marked the start of his meteoric ascent. He was supported by the International Showcase Fund to wow crowds at SXSW in Austin in 2025.
🎸 Support comes from Ellur (Halifax’s alt-pop queen) and Astles (Liverpool-based singer-songwriter). Both artists have been backed by PPL’s Momentum Fund to elevate their sound. Ellur’s debut US show at SXSW and first EU show at Reeperbahn 2025 were supported by the International Showcase Fund, with her recent full-length recording made possible by the PPL Momentum Music Fund. Astles has been supported by the targeted PPL Momentum Accelerator for the Liverpool City Region.
