Sahiyo Empowering Asian & other communities to end female ge***al cutting and create social change by dialogue, education & collaboration.

Sahiyo is the Bohra Gujarati word for ‘saheliyo,’ or friends, and reflects the organization’s mission to engage in dialogue with the community to find a collective solution towards ending FGC or khatna. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
- To bring an end to the practice of female ge***al cutting (also known as female ge***al mutilation or female circumcision), which has been recognized as a human rights violat

ion by the World Health Organization, United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

- To enable a culture in which a woman/girl’s body and female sexuality is not feared or suppressed, but embraced as normal.

- To recognize and emphasize the values of consent and a child/woman’s right over her own body.

📢 Submission deadline extended to August 17!

Justice For Girls 2026 is seeking creative works by and/or for survivors of female ge***al mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), Child, Early and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU), and other forms of gender-based violence. Selected works will be displayed in a digital and in-person exhibition in Enashipai in Naivasha, Kenya, September 2–4, 2026.

We are accepting submissions across multiple formats, including:

🎨 Visual Art (painting, illustration, photography, mixed media)
📝 Poetry & Written Word
🎥 Short Films (20 minutes or less)
🎶 Multimedia Storytelling (music, dance videos, radio dramas, experimental formats)

Drawing on findings from Sahiyo's latest report, this webinar will explore the emotional, structural, and political factors that shape survivor participation in policy advocacy. We'll discuss how advocacy spaces can become more trauma-informed, survivor-centered, inclusive, and accessible, and introduce the new Policy Advocacy Care Fund, designed to support more equitable and sustainable survivor participation.
