🌸 We have $13,600 more of our goal to go in building the foundation of Sahiyo’s Endowment Fund and strengthening long-term survivor-centered impact.

We’re working toward $30,000 by June 30 to launch this effort, with a generous $10,000 match to double the impact of early contributions. Every gift helps grow permanent resources for this mission.

🤝Six years after joining Sahiyo as the first two Programs Interns, Hunter and Cate recently met in person at the Oxford International Colloquium Towards Ending FGM.

Both have remained involved as volunteers, continuing to support our work and the broader movement to end FGC (female ge***al cutting). We’re so glad to see this connection and their continued commitment💗

On February 25, the DMV Coalition to End FGM/C hosted a webinar that explored the female ge***al mutilation/ cutting (FGM/C) landscape in Maryland. With over 40 attendees present, survivor testimonies, recent efforts to amend FGM/C legislation, and FGM/C and its impact on individuals in Maryland were explored.

Sahiyo has launched an Endowment Fund to help sustain our work for the long term. Unlike annual gifts that support immediate programs, an endowment builds a principal fund that is invested over time, with a portion of the earnings helping to support survivor-centered programs year after year.
