International Day of the Girl Child is a reminder of why we must keep working toward a future where every girl can live free from FGM/C and child marriage.

Last month, Justice for Girls 2026 came to a close with participants reflecting on key takeaways and how to carry the movement’s collective vision forward. Through closing reflections from movement leaders, youth feminists, government representatives, and funders, the final day reinforced the importance of continued commitment and collective action. The convening may have ended, but the work continues!🤝

Day 2 of Justice for Girls 2026 focused on the challenges and opportunities in the movement to end FGM/C and child marriage.

🌍🤝Through sessions on inclusion, safety, wellbeing, bodily autonomy, creative expression, and funding, participants shared ideas on how to strengthen this work. The day also featured a performance by Maasai dancers and ended with the Night of Unity, celebrating the cultures and connections that bring us together to end FGM/C and child marriage!

🤝 Last month, Justice for Girls 2026 began in Naivasha, Kenya, bringing together survivors, activists, advocates, young feminists, policymakers, funders, and movement leaders from around the world.

The first day created space to connect, listen, and reflect on where the movement to end FGM/C and child marriage stands today. Through survivor-led reflections, regional perspectives, and conversations on progress, challenges, and gaps, participants began laying the groundwork for the collective action ahead!

This Intersex Awareness Day, join us for a virtual celebration and movement crossover, bringing together cultural workers across reproductive justice, FGM/C, intersex, and trans movements.

interACT and SLIM (Strategy Lab for Intersex Movements) invite you to spend time together for the 30th anniversary of the intersex movement’s special day.

How can we create a world with bodily autonomy for all of us? We'll start with a group embodiment practice led by Sean Saifa Wall. Then we'll hear from Yamani of Groundswell Fund, Mariah Ayscue, Mariya of Sahiyo Voices, and Raquel Willis of Gender Liberation Movement, plus announce new projects with more opportunities for future collaboration.

Together, we’ll explore group embodiment, intersex movement history, and resistance to medical violence.
