To further understand the current landscape of female ge***al mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), HOPE MA conducted an assessment survey identifying areas the organization can explore further, to support the anti-FGM/C movement.

Read survey highlights and the ways HOPE MA plans to continue educating the public about FGM/C:

As part of Holistic Organized Partnerships to End FGM/C in Massachusetts’ (HOPE MA) ongoing effort to understand the current landscape of FGM/Cs, we developed a needs assessment survey to gather input directly from organizations and individuals working in this space. 🌸 We have $13,600 more of our goal to go in building the foundation of Sahiyo’s Endowment Fund and strengthening long-term survivor-centered impact.

We’re working toward $30,000 by June 30 to launch this effort, with a generous $10,000 match to double the impact of early contributions. Every gift helps grow permanent resources for this mission.

The environmental impact of climate change is a growing concern, but the impact climate change has on gender-based violence is often overlooked. With millions of people being displaced due to climate change, the rates of child marriages and individuals undergoing female ge***al mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) have increased.

Learn more about FGM/C in relation to climate change:

By Mannat K, Sahiyo Volunteer When we think about the impacts of climate change, we often focus on rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and threats to food security. What receives far less attention is how environmental crises disproportionately harm women and girls, particularly those in vuln...

Sahiyo has launched an Endowment Fund to help sustain our work for the long term. Unlike annual gifts that support immediate programs, an endowment builds a principal fund that is invested over time, with a portion of the earnings helping to support survivor-centered programs year after year.

We’re raising $30,000 by June 30 to help build this foundation. There is still time for your donation to be matched: the first $10,000 in gifts will have twice the impact through a matching opportunity.
