Akeane’s Testimony
“Before coming to the VYG, I had no direction in life. I was lost and I thought achieving materialistic goals would fulfil me.
I began abusing drugs to fill the void inside me and even went as far as giving them to others. I had multiple partners and slept around just to feel accepted.
At this point, I had been kicked out of mainstream school and had no father figure present in my life. I began engaging in illegal activities because I was obsessed with making quick money.
When I was invited to the VYG, I made a challenge with God: if, within a year, He could take away my addictions, sleep paralysis and the emptiness I felt, I would serve Him.
Within a few months, my addictions were broken. I could sleep well and my mindset had changed. This fuelled my hunger to be filled with the Holy Spirit. After being filled with the Holy Spirit, I became a different man—no longer burdened by addictions, sleepless nights, or emptiness.
Today, I help those who live the life I once lived. If I found a way out, you can too! I now serve God as an Assistant Pastor and have had the joy of helping people around the world.
I lived life in shackles, but now I’m free.”
