Have you ever wondered what being an Air Cadet is like? ✈️🎖️

Hear from some of Welling’s NCO team as they share what the word 'cadets' means to them. Reflecting on how they’ve grown, developed and built valuable skills throughout their time in the ATC.

As we reach Day 5 of National Cadets Week, we celebrate Skills for Life🔧✏️ with a focus on the skills, experiences and opportunities cadets gain during their time in the Corps.

From building confidence and leadership to developing teamwork and communication, Skills for Life highlights how these experiences support cadets within and beyond the RAFAC environment - in education, future careers and life after school.

Last Thursday, Cadets Clow, Bishop and Lovell took to the skies at RAF Benson ✈️

All three had a spectacular day, experiencing the cockpit first-hand and getting a taste of one of the exciting aviation opportunities available through the Air Cadets!

We are sure they've all made some amazing memories - especially those while in the middle of a barrel roll! 🎢

Earlier this month, FS Owen completed her Gold DofE Practice Expedition!

Over a few days, she navigated as part of a team across the Surrey Hills, completing the practice stage of the Lowland Expedition. The team demonstrated their resilience, teamwork and orienteering skills while they covered challenging terrain and put their preparation into practice.

Congratulations to FS Owen on this great achievement, and we wish her best of luck as she prepares for the qualifying expedition!

Last week, Cdt Jasrah had an amazing time over at Little Rissington for the mutli-activity camp. There were many activities on offer such as Shooting, Archery, Gliding, Flight Simulator and even a Chinook flight 🏹✈️

Her account of the week:
"The entire camp was a rollercoaster of emotions. From waking up at 5 in the shivering cold to competing against each other in trying to get bullseye in archery. I really enjoyed being pushed out of my comfort zone and talking to new people from all regions and calling them my temporary family for the week. I participated in lots of activities - shooting, archery, gliding, flight simulator and more. But overall my ultimate favourite was the chinook flight, flying great heights and witnessing first hand on its experience. I had a great time there and I hope to return soon!"

We are all now looking forward to the next camps over the summer!!

A big congratulations to FS Owen for completing the LASER March last weekend! 🥳🥾

Silver Road Marching and Road Marching in general is a demanding, but rewarding process. She completed an incredible 80km over the two days, showing strong resilience, teamwork and determination.

As a whole, the weekend brought together cadets and personnel from all over LASER, completing Bronze, Silver, and for some teams acts as part of the qualifier for those attending the 4 day, 120km (100 mile) marching event in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

Congratulations to all those involved! An amazing achievement. 🎉
