🚨 2 DAYS TO GO! 🚨

Applications for our FREE workshop programme close on Monday at noon!

We’ve been running these programmes for a while now—each edition shaped by industry professionals and past participants, making every programme unique.

But this one is special. This time, it’s led by us—Foreign Affairs. So, if you’re new here, a quick intro:

👋 Hello! We’re Camila (🇧🇷🇵🇹) and Trine (🇩🇰), and together we are Foreign Affairs. We met in 2008 during an acting course and, despite calling London home, often felt like outsiders in the industry—trapped by boxes and stereotypes. And just like that, Foreign Affairs was born.

This edition is designed with core members of our creative team, with ensemble at the heart of it. We can’t wait to get started!

We’re excited to introduce the group of creatives who will be leading our special edition Make Theatre With programme, inspired by our production Where I Call Home and designed for those looking to dive deeper into FA’s approach to performance-making.

At the helm is Trine Garrett, Co-Artistic Director and experienced facilitator, who’s directed several of our productions, including Where I Call Home. She’ll guide you through the programme, alongside other key members of the FA team:

👉 Eugenia Low – Long-standing ensemble member
👉 Youness Bouzinab – Embedded critic for Where I Call Home
👉 Ria Samartzi – Long-time collaborator as dramaturg and director

Also joining us is Charis Ainslie, who translated Where I Call Home from French to English.

And ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes is Camila França, Co-Artistic Director, who’ll be there to support both the team and all participants.

Theatre beyond border

Foreign Affairs is an east London-based theatre company that focuses on translation and international cultural exchange and collaboration.

Working with a multinational ensemble and creative team, we bring stories from around the globe into unconventional spaces. Our shows are dynamic, engaging and visceral, always placing the audience experience at the heart of what we do.

Rooted in a collaborative approach, we work with international playwrights and translators to bring award-winning world drama to English-speaking audiences with an eye to exploring topical social and political issues.

Foreign Affairs is led by founders and co-artistic directors, Camila França (Brazil) and Trine Garrett (Denmark).
