Every day, we're inspired by the passionate leaders who dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to making London a better place. They are the driving force behind the small charities creating opportunities, building connections, and changing lives in their communities.

Today, we're shining a spotlight on just a few of the incredible individuals we’ve had the privilege of working with:

Today, we hosted our first-ever Flash Consulting engagement with Blackstone, and what an inspiring morning it was. πŸ‘

We brought together 5 incredible small London charities - Bridging Barriers, Horse Rangers Association, IRIE! Dance Theatre, Peckham Digital, and Well Kneaded Foundation - and connected them with 12 skilled volunteers from across Blackstone's corporate function teams 🌟

In one fast-paced, high-impact session, volunteers and charities worked side by side on a range of pressing organisational challenges, from HR advisory support focused on organisational structure, culture and change, to contract and policy review, to developing corporate value propositions, and strengthening storytelling, visibility and communications strategy. The volunteers helped these organisations tackle their most pressing challenges in real time.πŸ’«

The feedback from charities was outstanding, with comments including:
β€œA very engaging and hugely impactful experience” and β€œThe session was transformative, helpful and well organised.”

Together, these amazing organisations are supporting over 9,000 beneficiaries across London πŸ’ͺ

And with more than 100 years of combined professional experience across the volunteer group, the Blackstone team brought insight, energy, and expertise to every conversation, making a real difference in just a single session πŸ’Ό

When asked to describe the day in one word, the responses said it all: Inspiring. Transformative, Creative. Humbling. Empowering. Insightful.

Volunteer feedback reflected the same impact:
β€œA great experience that felt rewarding for all involved.”
β€œAn amazing, impactful event tailored to my skills. I really felt I could add value to the charity.”
β€œI thought the session was fantastic.”

πŸ’‘ Today was a powerful reminder of what skilled volunteering can unlock - bringing professional expertise directly to charities at exactly the moment they need it most.

A huge thank you to Blackstone and everyone involved for making the day such a meaningful success 🀝

What a day celebrating the Big Issue’s 100 Changemakers! ❀️ Big Issue

It was wonderful to see the Big Issue bring so many incredible people together in one room and create the opportunity to connect, share stories and learn from one another.

A changemaker, to us, is someone who sees a problem and takes action to make things better. From founders of CICs and charities to musicians, advocates and people overcoming challenges to help others, it was inspiring to meet so many people creating positive change in their own unique ways.

Thank you for recognising us and for continuing to tell the human stories behind the impact. We left feeling inspired, energised and excited about the potential for collaboration ahead.

We’re looking forward to staying connected and exploring how we can support some of these amazing organisations with skilled volunteers to help tackle resource challenges and create even more impact.

Thank you for a fantastic day ❀️

Calling all software engineers and cyber security professionals πŸ’»πŸ”

Do you want to use your technical skills to make a real difference for vulnerable children and young people?

Why Care is looking for a Skilled Volunteer to review and strengthen their bespoke digital platform, which is helping to modernise the foster carer assessment process across the UK πŸš€

Why Care is a pioneering social enterprise tackling the national shortage of foster carers by helping local authorities recruit, assess and support a more diverse range of carers πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

Your expertise could help audit the platform's technology, assess its security, identify vulnerabilities, and support future development. Experience with Firestore, Google Cloud Platform, TypeScript or React.js would be especially valuable βš™οΈ

By helping build a stronger and more secure platform, you'll play a part in supporting more foster carers into the system - helping more children find the stable, loving homes they deserve ❀️
