Don't confuse obedience with discipleship.

A child can obey your rules and still not know God.

Good behavior is important, but it isn't the ultimate goal of parenting.

Our greatest assignment is to lead our children into a personal relationship with Christ, not just teach them to follow instructions.

Let's raise children who obey not out of fear, but out of love for God and a desire to honor Him.

πŸ“– "Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road..." β€” Deuteronomy 6:6–7

Remember, the goal isn't simply to raise well-behaved children, it's to raise disciples who know, love, and follow Jesus.

Let's be intentional about building homes where Christ is honoured, love is evident, and faith is passed from one generation to the next.

Because the greatest legacy isn't what you leave for your children, it's what you leave in them.

School may be on break, but your child's spiritual growth doesn't have to be.

The holidays are a wonderful opportunity to intentionally nurture your child's relationship with God in simple, meaningful ways.

Here are seven ideas to get you started:

1. Keep a simple Bible routine.
Read a short Bible passage together each day and talk about what it means. Consistency matters more than length.

2. Pray together every day.
Make prayer a natural part of your family's rhythm before meals, before bed, before outings, or whenever a need arises.

3. Help them memorize Scripture.
Choose one verse each week and make it fun through songs, games, or repetition.

4. Teach them to see God in everyday moments.
Use nature walks, family conversations, or acts of kindness to remind them of God's goodness and creativity.

5. Encourage them to serve others.
Visit a neighbour, help someone in need, or involve them in simple acts of generosity. Serving reflects the heart of Christ.

6. Limit screen time and create space for God.
Use some of the extra free time for worship, Bible stories, Christian books, or meaningful family conversations.

7. Be the example.
Your child is more likely to follow what you model than what you simply teach. Let them see you reading God's Word, praying, and trusting Him in everyday life.

Remember, spiritual growth isn't built in one big moment; it's cultivated through small, faithful habits practiced every day.

This holiday, don't just keep your children busy. Help them grow closer to God.

Which of these will your family start this week?

Parents, your role isn't to be the centre of your child's world; it's to lead them to Christ.
Help them build a personal relationship with God that will sustain them long after they've left your home.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." β€” Proverbs 22:6

As you pray with your children, you're teaching them that they never have to face life's challenges alone.

πŸ“– "Pray continually." β€” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

A child who learns to depend on God through prayer today will have a firm foundation to stand on tomorrow.

πŸ’› Remember: The habit of prayer is one of the greatest legacies you can leave your children.

Your role isn't to be the centre of your child's world; it's to lead them to Christ. Help them build a personal relationship with God that will sustain them long after they've left your home.

πŸ“– "Train up a child in the way he should go..." β€” Proverbs 22:6

Remember, your children don't need to see a perfect parent.

They need to see a parent who is becoming more like Jesus every day.

As we reflect Christ in our homes, we help our children discover His love, His grace, and His truth.

Which of these will you intentionally practise this week?
