Because our Stay & Play sessions are free, Andrea can attend regularly with her son, giving them both a chance to play, connect and thrive. Sometimes the biggest impact comes from simply having a place to belong.

Watching a child grow in confidence is one of the most rewarding things a parent can experience. Since attending our Stay & Play sessions, Aisha has seen her son go from staying close by her side to happily playing, chatting and building friendships with others. Moments like these show why early intervention matters. By supporting children during their earliest years, we can help build confidence, encourage positive developement and give every child the opportunity to reach their full potentional.

Through our early years education, we strive to make sure children in communities facing some of the highest levels of child poverty in the country reach their potential and have equal opportunities to start primary school at the same level as their peers.

Our Connect-Ed services have had an impact on schools across London. Here's deputy head and mental health lead Abigail talking about how we've helped at Immanuel and St Andrew CE Primary School develop a whole school approach to mental health.

Through our Connect-Ed services, CCS therapists support hundreds of children and young people each year who have experienced domestic abuse, neglect, trauma, loss or bereavement.

Our therapists give children a safe space to process painful experiences, rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning - helping them move forward with resilience and hope.

Daniel, a child helped through CCS's Connect-Ed School Counselling Service told us "It was special to have time that was just for me. I got to share a lot of things and that helped me to feel less heavy. I felt like someone really cared about me".

At the Catholic Children's Society, this spirit is at the heart of everything we do. Each day, we support children, families, and communities facing hardship by offering care, guidance, and hope when it’s needed most.

This month, and especially this week- Mental Health Awareness Week- we reflect on Mary’s example by continuing to stand alongside those in need, with kindness, dignity, and compassion.

May this special month bring peace and comfort to all
