We are deeply grateful that proceeds from the upcoming Assynt Palestine Film Festival (7 - 9 August) in Lochinver, Scottish Highlands, will be donated to The Galilee Foundation.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the organisers, including former BBC journalist Graham Perrie, who is presenting at the Assynt Palestine Film Festival, hosted in Lochinver Village Hall.

Events like these are crucial for highlighting Palestinian culture, history, and hope through the power of film.

In a wonderful show of solidarity, every filmmaker whose work is being featured has generously waived their screening fees to support the cause.

The programme features an exceptional lineup of Palestinian cinema, including:

“The Present” and “The Teacher” by Farah Nabulsi,

“Salt of This Sea,” “When I Saw You,” and “Wajib” by Annemarie Jacir,

“200 Meters” by , and

“Go Home” by Razan Madhoon.

WATCH a highlight reel of our panel discussion, co-hosted with the Friends of Palestinian Universities, on scholasticide in Palestine.

The Galilee Foundation would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Ahmed Abu Shaban (Al Azhar University), Dr Abdel Razzaq Takriti (Rice University), and Sundos Hammad (coordinator of the Right to Education Campaign at Birzeit University), who participated in our crucial discussion last month at the P21 Gallery.

Chaired by The Galilee Foundation’s Managing Director, Maha Alfarra, this event shed light on the Palestinian community’s efforts to support the recovery of Palestinian communities and the education system, helping to ensure that young Palestinians have a brighter future.

“At a time when Gaza’s universities have been devastated but not erased, this event affirmed a central message: Palestine’s universities live on through the students, faculty and communities who continue to carry them forward.”
