What is the Bank of Ideas? During its 4 month occupation the Bank of Ideas hosted over 400 events ranging from political debate, comedy nights to direct action planning and preparation. The Bank of Ideas now exists as an online community supporting alternative spaces that strengthen radical social movements in London.

If you are someone, like me, who wants the incredible violence in Palestine to stop, if you feel empathy for the civilians being massacred and believe that human life should be respected no matter what the circumstances then - Its really important to understand that you have a completely different set of values and complexly different agenda to the British state it's dominant institutions and political class. Britain plays a key role in supporting the assault on Gaza militarily politically economically and in the media. So if you are someone who is inclined to hold a sign saying "ceasefire now" or to attend an anti war march it's important to understand you have an opponent - the British establishment made up of the military the government arms manufacturers a media class that presents itself as a check on power but really acts as a megaphone for the powerful.

Bashir said Muslim businesses had been deliberately targeted on Saturday night and he criticised the police response.

Julian Assange has finally been freed. Many people involved in Bank of Ideas and associated communities over the years have been involved in supporting and drawing attention to his unjust and persecutory imprisonment. We've been part of the global campaign mentioned here, and have every right to be proud. I can only imagine the relief he must feel to finally return home to Australia.
