FiSH was one of the first Neighbourhood Care organisations in the country. Established in 1962, it has now served the community for over 50 years. FiSH is a registered charity and Company Limited by Guarantee, and is managed by a board of Directors. FiSH volunteers offer to collect shopping and prescriptions, provide transport to local hospital appointments, and fulfil many other requests. We rare
ly say no but we might refer you to other sources of help. We offer additional practical support to people who have recently come out of hospital. What FiSH does not do

Anyone needing our help should live in the FiSH ‘service area.’ This is mainly within postcodes SW13 and SW14, TW10 and some of SW15. All FiSH clients must live in the London Borough of Richmond. Does it cost anything? There is a yearly subscription of £20 to register as a FiSH user. This gives you access to services such as the Helpline. A Newsletter will be mailed, or emailed, to your home three times a year. The subscription does not cover our costs and we rely on donations to enable us to maintain and develop our services. Our volunteers will accept donations and pass them on to our office. What else does FiSH do? Befriending - The FiSH one-to-one befriending scheme is for people who, for whatever reason, may be isolated and / or feeling lonely. We offer both face-to-face (visiting) or telephone befriending. Please ask us for details. FiSH Accessible Minibus (operated in partnership with Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport - RaKAT); which offers:
• Daily transport to and from activities held locally
• Transport for outings to museums, theatres, stately homes, gardens and pub lunches
• Door-to-door supermarket shopping trips
• Volunteer helpers accompany all outings
• The FiSH bus and additional buses can be hired by local community groups by telephoning 020 8876 3765
Can I volunteer? We always need volunteers to help in the local community! Some give us a day or two a week, while others give an hour or two a month. No matter how much time you can spare us, it will always be very welcome and gratefully received.
