📣We're starting a refill scheme!📣

We're working with the Reuse Foundation to provide and sell refill items, so that people can top up their personal care and household supplies directly at our local centres (👀)

While the cafe is still closed, we just relaunched our community meals project over at Ascension Church Centre!

Every Tuesday we provide a warm space, hot drinks and activities in the hall from 11am-2pm, with a free hot meal being served at 12.30pm.

We'd love to welcome you into this new community space - join us next week for more!

Dear All,

On behalf of the Ascension Community Trust family we would like to welcome you all to the New Year. In moving forward with the Garden Community Cafe we understand there has been much we can learn from over a number of years and we would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to talk to us.

Faith Johnson, member of the ACT board and resident of Custom House, will be chairing surgery slots for people to come and discuss their experiences of the cafe, along with concerns, thoughts and ideas. Faith Johnson, Becca Rogers and Tom Booker will all be part of this listening team. This is a chance to share thoughts and to feed in to the future of the cafe. The bookings will be held on 22nd Jan between 10am-2pm and 25th January between 10am-3pm.

The available slots can be booked for up to 1hr. Please email [email protected] to book your slot. Please submit your date and time by Wednesday 17th 5pm. Please send at least two dates and times so we can ensure everyone can be seen and we will try our best to confirm your option. If anyone is unable to attend in person please do email and we will aim to arrange an online meeting. The venue for the discussion will be held at the Garden Cafe.

Please see below some questions to consider when preparing for your booking slot meeting:

1. What lessons can we learn to enable the cafe to move forward well? (Please tell us up to 3)
2. What does the cafe need to thrive?
3. How can we ensure that the cafe is welcoming and open to the whole of our community?

Thankyou!
