Worldwide Action is pleased to have been able to provide practical support to Shine Preparatory School in Kasese, western Uganda, following a request from our partners at PARC-Uganda
The school approached Worldwide Action for assistance with measures intended to strengthen hygiene and infection prevention arrangements for its pupils. The request highlighted the need for additional handwashing facilities, soap and hygiene supplies, together with temperature-screening equipment.
Shine Preparatory School was established to help sustain and expand an orphan sponsorship project and had 269 children enrolled by the end of the first term of 2026. With large numbers of children learning and playing together, access to simple preventative measures such as effective handwashing is particularly important.
Worldwide Action responded by funding the requested equipment, including a foot-operated handwashing facility. The photographs show the equipment in use at the school and demonstrate how a relatively modest intervention can provide a practical and lasting benefit to a community.
For Worldwide Action, this is exactly what our “Survive and Thrive” philosophy is about: responding to an identified local need with practical support that can make a genuine difference.
A huge thank you to PARC-Uganda and the staff at Shine Preparatory School for their continuing work supporting children and their community.
A huge thank you also to our friends at Nine One One Fire Services Ltd for their kind and generous donation to make this possible.
Small interventions. Practical solutions. Lasting impact.
