IMECE Women's Centre IMECE stands against all forms of violence against women and girls.We support and empower BAMER women

IMECE Women’s Centre is a woman only registered charity and company limited by guarantee, set up in 1982. Its aim is to empower Black, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BMER) women, particularly Turkish, Kurdish and Turkish Cypriot women and improve quality of their lives. We are part of several networks, forums and boards where we represent the interests of black and ethnic minority communities.

Araştırmalar, büyük futbol karşılaşmaları dönemlerinde aile içi şiddet bildirimlerinde artış yaşanabildiğini gösteriyor. Ancak hiçbir maç sonucu, hiçbir hayal kırıklığı ve hiçbir kutlama şiddetin bahanesi olamaz.

Today is a day to honor the millions of refugees who are forced to migrate due to endless wars, political pressures, economic crises, environmental disasters and other factors.

This journey can be especially challenging for refugee women and girls. Globally, one in five refugee women experiences s*xual violence.

We stand with refugees who resist hardships, set out with the hope of building a new life and believe in the power of solidarity. Together, we can build a fairer and safer world!

🌍 The theme of Refugee Week 2026 is “Courage.”

Today is a day to honor the millions of refugees who are forced to migrate due to endless wars, political pressures, economic crises, environmental disasters, and other factors.

This journey can be especially challenging for refugee women and girls. Globally, one in five refugee women experiences s*xual violence.

We stand with refugees who resist hardships, set out with the hope of building a new life, and believe in the power of solidarity. Together, we can build a fairer and safer world!

By sharing this post, you can highlight the challenges faced by refugee women and raise awareness among more people about this issue.
