Samuel Bourdillon's story of emergency neurosurgery & posterior fossa syndrome, to help other sufferers & families & to raise awareness for early diagnosis

Brain tumours wreck lives: - Around 9100 people per year (25 per day) are diagnosed with brain tumours in the UK alone, - The promising lives of approx 500 children per year under 10 in the UK, are being lost or severely affected by brain tumours, - Their families too will have their lives significantly disrupted, careers and livelihoods threatened, - Ironically though, diagnosis statistics & UK funding lag behind other medical spheres and so does understanding of brain tumours generally.

Not a dry eye in the house watching this moving performance of Samuel, Paul & Karen Bourdillon on BGT.

So well deserved for these talented & resilient super-heroes. Will be following their progress into live performances in the weeks to come.

TONIGHT on ITV1 at 7.40pm in the UK, an incredible group of kids and parents are performing in the Britain's Got Talent (BGT) auditions.

Kids who've been living with brain tumours, supported by their amazing parents through the roller-coasters of intense neuro-surgery, posterior fossa, chemotherapy, copious MRI scans all with complex and extremely challenging side effects.

We've been very quiet on here since 2016 after Samuel's gradual posteria-fossa recovery from first brain surgery in Nov 2015. In 2020 Samuel had another near perfect Kings College Hosp, London NHS major surgery. Now in 2022, the relentless tumour battle continues for my 12yr old warrior nephew.

After these 2 major neuro-surgeries at 5yrs & 10yrs old respectively Paul & Karen + Samuel are in the midst of chemo treatment to cease the inaccessible tumour re-growth at the top of Samuel's brain stem.

Samuel's an avid 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏏 & 🏏 player 🏏like his parents, Paul & Karen. He's also an avid ⚽️ & ⚽️ ⚽️ supporter. Such youth should be able to enjoy 🇮🇳🇿🇦🇿🇼🇵🇰🇧🇩🇹🇯 🇳🇿🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇦🇫🇱🇰🇮🇪and excitement of sport and not having to fight toxins in hospital.
