The Academy is the leading Performing Arts School based in Lambeth with a mission to increase access to professional performing arts, increase diversity in the arts due to that access and to build confidence, creativity, community cohesion and provide a safe place to be. We have a professional performing arts agency for our students and they are trailblazing in the industry, performing across the

west end stage, commercials and film/television. Their success directly achieves our mission of diversifying the industry and proves that access to affordable training at a young age really is absolutely key.

We are so proud of him!! Seeing our teachers on stage never gets old, and we are incredibly lucky to learn from those who are actively working at the highest level of the industry.

For so many of our young people with Caribbean heritage, seeing themselves reflected on stage in a show like this is so powerful. Representation matters, and this production is full of it!!

☀️ SUMMER WORKSHOPS ARE NOW LIVE! ☀️

Join us for two amazing weeks of performing arts this summer at The Boury Academy!

🎭 Ages 4-16
🕙 10am-4pm
🍽️ Hot lunch included
💛 Just £80 for the whole week

Whether your child loves acting, singing, dancing or simply wants to make new friends and build confidence, our summer workshops are packed with creativity, fun and opportunities to shine on stage.

We also have a limited number of FREE places available through Lambeth HAF funding. Booking for these opens later this month, but you can register your interest now and let us know if you are eligible.

Places fill quickly every year, so don’t leave it too long!

Today is World IBD Day. 💜

At The Boury Academy, we talk a lot about resilience, inclusion and creating spaces where people feel safe to be fully themselves.

What many people may not know is that one of our founders, Caroline Boury, lives with Crohn’s Disease. An incurable inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects daily life in ways people often never see.

IBD is not “just a tummy ache”.

It can mean chronic pain, exhaustion, hospital appointments, medication, surgery, anxiety around flare ups and trying to continue showing up for work, family and community whilst feeling incredibly unwell.

And yet, like many people living with invisible illnesses, so much of it is carried quietly.

Today is about raising awareness not only for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, but for everyone navigating invisible disabilities whilst still trying to live fully, work hard, create, parent, study and simply get through the day.

We are incredibly proud to build an organisation rooted in empathy, accessibility and understanding. Because you never truly know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.

As an organisation led by a founder and director living with a disability, we understand first-hand the realities that can come with chronic illness, invisible disability and simply trying to navigate daily life whilst carrying something others may never see.

Caroline will be away for a little while from next week as she has another surgery to support living with this condition.

To anyone in our community living with IBD or chronic illness, we see you. 💜

This Wellbeing Week, we’re recognising the importance of creating spaces where young people feel emotionally safe, supported and genuinely seen. 🖤

Did you know that at The Boury Academy our students and families have free access to our amazing in-house support?

Theo Campbell is our registered trauma-informed practitioner. This means he is specially trained to support individuals who may have experienced trauma, helping to provide the care, understanding and tools needed to feel safe, regulated and supported.

This is something Theo is incredibly passionate about and honestly… he is loved by every part of the Boury family. 🫶🏽

Theo is on site every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Any member of our team can help book a formal session, or young people can simply ask to see him when they feel they need a little extra support.

Because at Boury, wellbeing matters just as much as performance. ✨
